I'm really worried and need some feedback if any one of you encounter this.i opened service request and i got the below message, does this mean lot of wait time or just sometime

We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

Hello, I have heard of this before from one of my friends but she was from Pakistan and in the US when she filed. But I remember it all worked out in a month or so. I don't know if its the same kind of case scenario.

So my receipt date is November 6th at the NSC and every time I called they kept telling me that they were working on november 5th and I couldnt put in a service request.

Well thanks to all of you for updating us all, because I saw people after November 6th get approved so I called and asked to speak to someone higher.

After 30 mins on hold, he was able to tell me that they are currently working on my case and that I can put in a request if I still wanted to.

I requested a service request and hope that this doesnt cause any delays!

Its all very random. I saw people form 25-26th priority date getting approved before me (my PD is Nov 14). I am sure you will her in about a week or so. I also think NSC sends like a bulk of approved applications together, so i think a lot of us who get approved in the next 2 weeks will have our cases sent to NVC at the same time. Fingers crossed.

Check our April, May and June 2013 filers thread. Few people are/were stuck for long time due to extra security checks. Unfortunately there is no timeline how long it takes.

Guys does the NOA 2 hard copy comes with an alien registration number for the beneficiary who is living outside of the U.S? I read somewhere on the I-864 form where it asks for an alien registration number for the beneficiary.

Called today and was told they are working on Nov 5th applicants. They've been telling me this for two weeks. Then the girl tells me. I should call back in a month and a half. BY then NSC should have approved my petition. I wanted to reach thru the phone and smack her. Ugh.

They have been telling me Nov 5th for a couple of weeks as well. But they only ever said to call again in a few days, not after waiting one and a half months!

Is there anyone here who filed I-130 in December 2013 and got approved by the Nebraska service center? Just wanted to know if the 5 month wait period as show on the uscis website is a ground reality or not since I have 8 more days for my 5 month wait to be up.

I just called. Nothing new. I put in a service request yesterday for status, since I am still "within normal processing times" despite how many people have been approved who filed after I did. I hate the USCIS so much, they're a disgrace to this country and to the entire human race!
