Hi all

I need an advice: I will enter on a K-1 by the end of the year.

I now have gotten a job offered for January already, i have learned, that I MIGHT apply for EAD immediately, but that it could take 90 days.

I need suggestions or a solution. Any ideas?

Thank you VERY much for your help!

None. Need to wait, also EAD you can apply for immediately will only be valid os long as your I-94 is - it will be nothing more than waste of money as you'll have to stop working once it expires. Get married and file for AOS including EAD as soon as you can.

Once you enter and them become married, you can file for AOS and the EAD as well. The EAD will take about three months to process.

Marry asap and file for AoS asap.

Of course enter ASAP, tell them you will not be able to start January, maybe end of Feb.

This means i will not be able to work before april or so?

If you enter marry file before the end of December, then mid March or so, early in December then end of February.

Have all your AOS paperwork filed out and ready to go. Marry the day you enter or the day after. Depending on where you marry you might be able to walk the certificate to the clerk and get a certified copy same day. Put it in the envelope with your AOS paperwork. Go to a location to next day express send it. AOS paperwork at processing location two days after your entry. Then it takes 60-90 days to obtain the EAD which is free if filed with AOS. You can request an expediate with proof of an employment offer but don't count on approval.

You can file for EAD when you arrive, and pay for it, but it will take 60-90 days to receive. It will expire the day your I-94 expires so within weeks of receipt and then you will have to quit your employment.

No harm trying.
