Gosh I have been following this thread and what an administrative mess --- The center did everything they were supposed to based on your address but made a mess for you guys in the process. One of my clients is an immigration attorney and he said that once the file makes it to the original country you can certainly get it transferred but it's going to take some time. They don't just send it over there they wait until they have a few as a batch and then package them over from what he was telling me.He didn't know about just going ahead and having the interview in Jakarta but didn't think it was a problem as OFW's have interviews at the US Embassy in different countries constantly. As long as your information is correct and you answer the questions correctly he felt you would be fine. Remember - It doesn't matter about the location of the embassy, once you are inside the grounds it is basically like you are on US soil. He suggested that you get together on an Indonesian forum inside of VJ and consult with women who are migrating here from that country. He also advised me that there is no CFO requirement if you are living outside the Philippines already. However; If you return to the Philippines after your interview you will need the stamp. This is the free advise I got -- dancin5hr.gif

Big thanks for this help. I've decided to have the interview here. Although I feel devastated right now, I'd rather go on with the process than wait for the USEM Jakarta to transfer our file to Manila. I feel like I am starting from scratch again. I am so confused where and when to have the medical here since the process is different. I can't stop thinking about being refused of the visa because this is not my mother country. I also have to wait for the packet3 before scheduling for my medical and interview unlike there in the Philippines. :(

I read the whole thread and I feel just the same way you feel. Im from Colombia and my fiancee and I found out last friday our case file was sent to Argentina (Where im currently working) instead of Colombia. We just decided to leave it get here and wait for the interview date but I have no idea how the process works here and I think I might lose the chance of spending xmas with my family :(

He called today and was advised by the supervisor to email NVC to change our Consulate to USEM, Manila. They ask for my address in the Phil and my scanned biographical copy of my passport. The supervisor said with this we can hope that they change the consulate from Indonesia to Philippines before they ship our file. They told us to follow up next week.

Oops.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.

IMO, the supervisor could have stopped all movement of the casefile during the phone call.

And did not do that.

Are you certain that fella of yers spoke with a supervisor ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
