sent an email after being jogged around the system yesterday. They responded today. Our interview is on Jan. 23rd, at 2:30. Now just to wait for packet 4 to actually get here

Amanda-Lise: Oops, I wanted to ask you.... are you planning on going first thing in the morning even though your apt is at 2:30??? i would love an afternoon apt, that way I could drive up from Ottawa in morning and drive back home afterwards and save on hotel cost!

I'm not entirely sure yet, my fiance and I hadn't even really discussed the mechanics of the interview yet as we weren't expecting to even have a date that is so soon. I'll likely end up taking the train that morning. My work is going to hedge on giving me the interview date and the day after off to begin with. Plus I could save myself the expense of one night in a hotel, just have to stay the night of the interview to (hopefully) pick up the visas the next day. I know it very likely means a much longer wait at the consulate, but its ok and worth it in the end

Are you even allowed to just go in the morning if you have a scheduled appointment in the afternoon? Something to check into if that's the case. In Vancouver it seems the appointments are in the mornings and pick-ups of visa's are in the afternoons.

unless Mtl has changed that part of their proceedure too, from what I understand, people were going and lining up before the consulate doors opened irregardless of what time their interview was for, getting a number when they got to the appropriate place, and being called according to number.

My fiance has decided to get the time off to come up and be with me. I'm not sure if he would be allowed in for the interview, has anyone else had experience with bringing their fiance to the interview? Either way I can finally introduce him to Montreal's fine dining. Jersey, its great to be getting the details in motion but I think I'm starting to panic already. Work wouldnt give me time off to go for the medical as of yet, its scheduled for Jan 8th. The reality of the whole process is really sinking in now, and I'm horribly nervous about relying on someone who knows neither of us to decide that we can cross the border, get married, and start our lives together. I probably just need to relax, grab a drink, and bask in the glow of getting an interview date lol

I put our mtl case number as the subject. Then first in the body of the message, my fiance's name, date of birth, my name and date of birth.

<<Just checking in to see if an interview date has been scheduled in our

case.

And if not, when we could expect one.

sorry you are having probs with getting a response. Ive had to resort to only using the email, Im normally at work when they take calls and the times I have been able to call, I've been round and round and round the system. Hope you hear something soon!

Strange that the interview is in the afternoon. I'd wait to get the letter before getting to excited. Did it say the letter was mailed out. When I phoned the gave the date the letter was mailed. Then I phoned again and the lady said it was mailed but it was. The first time I phoned they gave me a bogus date for my interview. I'd wait and see if it's for real. Don't want to rain on your parade but sometime Montreal can not be so nice and tell you what you want to hear.
