Hey all!

So my fiance and I are done with everything. We have just been waiting for the US embassy in Islamabad to schedule an interview. It has been 7 weeks since we sent in packet 3.5, I would like to know if they mail out the interview letter via courier service, or email? Pls help!! xx

Hey, we're also waiting for our packet 4 for 4 weeks but we haven't heard from the embassy yet. Let us know through this post if you hear from the embassy. BTW, I also contact American Express almost every day to inquire about our case. Why don't you try doing that? And, what does your CEAC status say?

At last, our visa was APPROVED on November 26th, which just happened to be the GREATEST birthday present ever . Hands down, having a lawyer is the key thing to getting this visa approved. Here's how it all went.

We arrived to the embassy at 7:00 am. (Our interview was at 7:30am)

They let him in with ease, of course, but since I am the petitioner they needed to do extra screening.

We received a ticket number, and waited for about an hour and a half.

My fiance then got called up to the window and was going to give the interview in English but I got it changed to Urdu last minute,

Since I had a lawyer working on my case, he had already spoken to them about approving the visa, so they asked only 3 questions. They did not ask for any documents or pictures, just his passport. They asked What I do for a living, How we met, and if hes happy. My fiance answered with ease and they said his visa was approved and can be picked up at the American Express courier office in 6-7 working days.

American express had called this morning asking for the form DS156K, because the embassy had forgotten to get it from us. My fiance will be receiving his visa next week.

mahamsalman1, Just curious - how long did it take from the time you sent in the I-129F until the time of the interview?

Also, you said you got a lawyer. Was that a Pakistani lawyer or an American lawyer?

How did your lawyer get the visa approved? I do not get that.

@ jaybolo I sent mine last week of January and was interviewed in October. Total of only 9 months!

Yikes! 9 months. I know when it's all over it will seem like it passed quickly. But while you're waiting, each moment seems like an eternity!

By the way, I wish all you Pakistani filers would fill out your timelines so we can get a better aggregate idea about the trends there.

9 months that was because I went to Karachi and emailed the embassy saying I was leaving soon and needed the interview done. Otherwise, there is a huge delay, and AP itself is months. It has causes a lot of emotional damage and the embassy needs to pick up their damn speed!

Yep, I got a interview within 2 weeks, a day before my flight! It was a miracle! Have you got your date yet?
