early walks in, in my opinion, won't speed up the process .Why the need to do it ? If you can't go at the appointment date just have it rescheduled...ClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gif

It does speed up the process based on the office. My friend got the appointment letter on 9/15 for 10/08 biometric . He went on 9/16 and got it done. He got his interview letter on 10/03. Now that def. did speed it up else he would have waited another 20 days for his interview letter.

His eligibility date must have also been already passed. That's good to see though that some parts of the process actually moves forward after each step is completed, in a logical fashion and not just by some random force... idea9dv.gif

It's on a case by case basis. Besides, having it rescheduled may delay the whole thing. I did an early walk in because I had off that day and I wanted to take advantage of that rather than asking for permission at work.

Cool!!! Seems like they place you inline for interview scheduling just a couple of days after biometrics as long as you eligibility date is good. smile.png

Thanks! And yes it seems like it's soon after. I am starting to worry though (I know... I worry too much sometimes). But I'm also going on vacation for Christmas and New Year. :/ :/

Well you're probably OK since it seems to take over 1 month of getting status for inline to interview date for Chicago field office people from the September filers thread..

Yet another day dissappointed at the mail....I was able to get back in contact with an officer in nebraska who told me she would try to get in contact with the mail section to get me a tracking number. She called me back this afternoon and told me that she is still waiting for them to reply. I dont know anywhere in the country that would take 13 days to send mail to. I got mail faster than this in iraq.... Im going to be very upset if it is just sitting in the mail room waiting to be sent back or if it was just recently sent out.....At this point im hoping it is still there and she can just walk down stairs and grab it......

That sucks. It can't have left their building since it would already be at your house. If they still have it then can't they just turn around, find it and process it? I mean we are all humans with real abilities to process information and make decisions.. right?

It works now. I was having trouble editing it a couple of weeks ago. I removed an extraneous couple of tags, and it works fine now....

The eligibility date is what it matters at the end as we can't have the oath before it.Mine for example is February 7th, so even if i did an early walk in ( and you are not 100% sure they allow you ) i could have probably received my interview letter a week before of the one that i will get now, So? I do not see it as a big deal, not arguing here just making a point. In my opinion early walks in do not speed the Naturalization process at all.

You have refuted your own opinion by quoting and responding to a circumstance where it did speed up the process. Here's a link that you might find enlightening: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_thinking

Hope this helps.

All I am saying is that don't make a general statement. Yes if you filed 3 months before eligibility then you are not going to speed up anything. But there are lots of cases where they file much after eligibility like I filed after 2 years my eligibility date. So early walk ins does speed up our cases.

Not to mention cases like mine that does not have an eligibility date. The sooner I get everything done the sooner I get my interview. So I am doing an early walk in, especially since i live 8 minutes away from a biometrics facility. But thats even if i can get my packet back in time...still waiting....

Hi everyone. I am confused by the above posts about eligibility date. What does that mean?. That if you filed within the 90 days before your actual anniversary date comes up your case won't be process any faster?.

I ask because i filed exactly on the first date that my window of eligibility opened for me. I figured, the sooner i file, the sooner it will go through the process. Am i mistaken? Can someone please elaborate further?. I am a December filer BTW.
