Does The Intent To Marry Affidavit Have To Be Original Copy?

Hi Everyone!

My fiance and I just received and RFE because our lawyer did not include or inform us that we needed a statement of intent to marry within 90 days of his entrance into the US. cray5ol.gif Needless to say, I do not trust a word that my lawyer tells me anymore.

So we both have to write and sign these affidavits of intent. Does anyone know if this document has to be the original copy? Or can my fiance just fax or scan/email me his signed letter? I ask because I want to submit this as soon as possible and not wait for 3 weeks while his letter arrives, from the Ukraine, in the mail.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated and more trusted than my lawyer's opinions.

Thanks All!

Your Letters of Intent definitely need to be original documents.

Good luck!

Hi Loving girl

Thank you soooooo much for the response. You just made this crappy day a little better! :)

We already sent in the original G-325A, that is why I am so frustrated with my lawyer, because we already waited once for his package to arrive, for 3 weeks.

Do you know which carrier delivers the fastest from the Kiev to the US?

I am not so much concerned about the cost as I just want it to get here quickly. The last time my fiance sent me a package, he was told that 10-15 business days was the quickest mail can be sent. I would be happy to use DHL, FedEx or UPS if he can.

Your Letters of Intent definitely need to be original documents.

Good luck!

Thank you and same to you and your loved one!! :)

if he is in Kiev and is not limited in finances he can use DHL their office is near Bessarabskaya square (straight city center). If via DHL it may cost around 600 UAH....they deliver in 3 days if i am not mistaken. but if you are not limited in time i suggest to send via normal post (i did same last week :) ) and it cost me around 12 UAH ;)

10-15 days????????? this is a nonsense!!!! in august i was sending a PARCEL to the US (and it takes more time to be delivered as far as it stays for checking at the ukrainian customs with declarations that are attached to the parcel) and my parcel was delivered in 10 days!!!! letters are easier to deliver as far as they do not stay at customs etc...so it´s kinda hard to believe it takes 15 days for a letter to be send to the USA......i guess it was misunderstanding ;)

Ha-ha I guess we have just been lucky like that...I received his signed G-325 after 10 business days after he sent it. He also did not tell me that DHL was available....probably because he knew that I would convince him to pay the extra money to get it to me faster goofy.gif It stinks to have to pay so much for DHL but 3 days is SOOOO much better than 2 weeks

Maybe DHL for one document will cost less, he should go and weight it at their office to know exact price. I suggest you two to test normal post one day ;-) any way you will still send correspondance in future :)

Let me know how much charged you DHL :)

Thanks All!

Original signatures are required. Also request a refund since your lawyer blew it.
