Can I ask SLEC to issue Med Cert so I can claim Sickness Benefit at SSS?

Good day, VJers! I have a question....

I am undergoing TB treatment at SLEC for almost 4 months now. I learned that as an SSS member, I have a sickness benefit.

Does anyone here (who underwent TB treatment) know or experience asking SLEC's pulmo doctor for a medical certificate or ask for some medical records for SSS sickness reimbursement purpose?

I stopped working because of the hassle of going to SLEC daily and for me to get better also. SSS cash claims will be a great help for me since I am a member and paying the maximum contribution while I am working.

Thanks in advance for the advices. :)

I would suggest contacting SSS to get the details of what they require, they may have forms for you and the doctor to complete

Hi, Hank! I just went to SSS today and got the forms. I will bring it to SLEC next week. Well, I am hoping they would sign and give medical records as I always hear that they don't disclose records except the usem :( .

SLEC did not gave me even certified copies of the medical records. The doctor just signed the SSS form. :(

In short, I cannot claim sickness benefit from SSS as medical records (xray and sputum results) are the requirements to attach in the claim form.

Oh well.
