K1 medical exam

My fiancee is a UK Citizen, and will be going for her exam in the UK. I understand that the NHS has a centralized medical record system, so any doc in the country can pull someone's entire medical history up if needed.

Does anyone know if the UK doc will do this for the K1 medical? Or, do they rely on info you provide during the exam, and only pull records if they think something is amiss/needs further investigating?

The Embassy page advises having your regular health care provider furnish all medical records and take them with you to Knightsbridge. This is particularly for vaccinations (the bar along the right side of the site), but likely includes anything else that may raise questions at the medical.

As an NHS analyst I can confirm that there is no centralised database. Not even within a fairly small locality, still less nation-wide

All I was required to take to my medical from my GP was a print-out of my vaccination history.

The only history you need to have for the examiner:-

1.vaccination history

2. transmissible diseases or ongoing health issues like diabetes

3. any history of drug abuse

4. any history of depression or self-harm

Beyond these, they are not interested in general health as you will be examined and chest x-rayed.

If you're worried about whether the doctors at Knightsbridge can see her records: they cannot.

Plus any serious illnesses you may have had in the past. I had to get my doctor to write a letter about something in my medical history 17 years ago.

Yeah, I was worried that they would have access to them.

Basically, she has smoked pot before and was treated briefly for depression/suicidal ideation. She is not on any medication, is not currently seeing a doc, is not a threat to herself or anyone else. She's a mild-mannered person who successfully holds down a job, and has never had any problems at work or with law enforcement. I don't want them to put her under a microscope, fail her, or require ridiculous follow-ups or paperwork.

I guess I'm just hoping she can say "no" to the drug question, and "no" to the depression question, and leave it at that.

If at all possible, I'd suggest that she get records of treatment from the doctor who did the treatment. I think they will ask about past depression/drug usage at the visa medical....and I don't want to condone lying to the Knightsbridge doctor. But if she can prove she was treated for these circumstances and provide that at her medical, I imagine that would be immensely helpful.
