I'm going to my doctor tomorrow to look at my vaccinations and what i still need to get. However on the London US embassy website there are two lists of vaccination requirements. One said if you are a female between 11-26 you need Human papillonomavirus vaccination, but the other doesnt mention this vaccination. Anyone got advice on what to do?

I haven't looked today at what lists you are speaking of, but London failed to update their published list since 2009 when HPV and Zoster were Changed, as well as in November 2010 when Influenza became mandatory for everyone over 6 months old during flu season.

Heres the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

Td or Tdap - or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS also

MMR (if born in 1957 or later) Get a second shot 4 wks later if you have time before your medical. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval".

Varicella Not routinely given in the UK ; a history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam.

Influenza - During flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed.

Thanks! Very helpful list smile.png

So does that mean HPV was only needed prior to 2009 or since 2009?

HPV was dropped from the list in 2009.

When you attend your Visa medical exam, they will want to see your vaccination records and they will supply you with any of the required vaccinations that you may be missing. They have a price list of their vaccinations on their website, but the above post by Nich-Nick says what you need.

I recommend asking your GP or the Practice Nurse about getting any of them done with them. I required a TDaP and they just gave it to me for free when I explained why I needed it. When I had my visa medical, I didn't need to pay out for anything more than the exam.

It can't hurt to ask and could save you at least £40 or more.
