hi guys does anybody knows whats the processing time for k3 visa ?

Posted time is 5 months. There is a lot of talk about the K-3 starting again since the I-130 is estimated over a year.

I just filed my K-3 after waiting for 6 months so far for my I-130. My lawyer advised it would be a good idea.

first you need to understand how the K3 works.

You do not file the K3, you go on the K3 visa path.

It starts by sending the I-130. When the NOA1 is received from the I-130 you can send in the I-129F with a photocopy of the NOA1, and start the path of the K3.

If the approved I-130 reaches the NVC before or at the same time as the I-129F, then the I-129F will be closed and you will have no choice but the IR1/CR1 visa.

If it is not closed and the embassy also does not close it, then the spouse is on the K3 visa path.

Keep in mind the K3 visa is TWICE as expensive, it also means the spouse cannot work for 3 months, and it will take twice as long to get a green card.

Any more questions?

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Nigeria
Timeline

i was thinking about filling the K3 visa. I am about to file I-130 but when i call the USCIS, they said if i should go ahead and file the k3, it will delay and prolonged the I-130, so it was advised to just file the I-30 and wait to be approved.

Anybody takes on this?

Cuz i understand it take 9 months to a yr to get a spouse visa from start to finish. So I was wondering if the K3 visa will be appropriate or just wait patiently for the spouse visa to be approved.
