Please allow 30 business days for us to review your documents. Does NVC mean case complete?

I got this email from the NVC today, after a few days having paid Visa Fee and sent DS230 and Civil documents:

Dear Sir/Madam:

....

We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days
for us to review your documents.

....

Does anybody know what it means? Does it mean case complete, or does it simply mean--wait for about 30 days for the case to be completed yet?

In most cases here, I saw that Case gets completed at the NVC within a week. How come mine's 30 days?

Could it be that it is already complete, and that I have already been placed on cue for Interview scheduling?

Any wild ideas? Anyone? Thanks!

You are not yet case complete.

It will take 30 business days for NVC to review your documents so you'll have to wait.

Oh I see, not the answer I was hoping for. hehehe

So if Case was completed, they'd send me an email right away?

Or should I really call? Husband is too busy to wait on a call to NVC.

In case, i just might need to call them from my end--Baguio City, Philippines...

And Apple21, Just curious on your Timeline--you had an advanced medical exam

before your Case ever got completed?

Are we allowed to do that? Anywhere i can read further about that?

Please advice. Might help to know. Thanks!

So if Case was completed, they'd send me an email right away? Did they already accept your AOS package? They will send a case complete status email, but it comes 7 days after the exact date of your case completion (refer to my timeline).

Or should I really call? Husband is too busy to wait on a call to NVC.

In case, i just might need to call them from my end--Baguio City, Philippines... You can call NVC yourself for free over WIFI. If you have an Android or iOS phone/device, just download the MagicJack app. That's what I use to make free calls to NVC. Their lines are open starting 7:30pm up to 11:30am (Philippine time, Monday night until Saturday morning). Just be patient, you might be on hold for 30 minutes. wink.png

And Apple21, Just curious on your Timeline--you had an advanced medical exam

before your Case ever got completed?

Are we allowed to do that? Anywhere i can read further about that? Yes, I did advance medical at St Luke's when I was about to be case completed because I was so worried that I might take the dreaded sputum exam (I had slight pneumonia back in 2009). In place of the interview letter, I presented the email from NVC that shows my MNL case number. St Luke's accepted it (that was also the advice given to me by others who have also taken the advance medical). Fortunately, I passed the medical and got 2 vaccines. biggrin.png

Please advice. Might help to know. Thanks!

Husband is too busy to wait on a call to NVC. NVC would never call him, so this waiting bit is wrong.

also, NVC is open till 23:59 EST, mon-fri, so I must assume no one can be that busy.

I suggest you study the September 2013 NVC Monthly Filers Thread. Then when yer ready, after studying, post your question in the October 2013 NVC Monthly Filers Thread. Don't skip the reading part, though.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

@Darnell, my husband has taken two jobs this year with only 3 hrs in the morning, and 3 hours in the evening of sleep. Trying to save up. It will change when i get there though--I'll be there to help. So it's really mostly me who does the research and the communicating with NVC. I just update him.

Also, will definitely read on the monthly Filers. Didn't know how to go about it at first--but getting the hang of it here at VJ. :-) thanks for advice will do that!

@Apple21 thank you for those info! I find it very very helpful! Will do the Magicjack app right away! All i knew was tango and viber and skype, didn't research enough on how to make free calls! Wouldnt know that if it weren't for you! LOL that's amazing! I do appreciate you guys taking the time to help out here on VJ! Until later! Good luck to all of us!
