Re: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by VisaOfficer: 10:20am

feb242:
Hi VO, thank you for your correspondence, it has been very informative. I'm about to Frontload a K-1 visa petition because it has be advised that high fraud consulates require additional proof of a bonafide relationship with the initial I-129f (i.e. chat logs, emails, call logs, detailed & thorough declaration of how we met for #34a, letters, and maybe even notarized letters from both our parents verifying our relationship is real) besides the mandatory proof of meeting within 2 years. There is a never ending conversation about to frontload or not to frontload, and if you do frontload, what is the appropriate amount of documents you would like to see from the petitioner?

Ohhhhhhhhhh please don't frontload. When we get a great big fat frontloaded case, my first thought is, "This is either going to be really good or really bad." Some people frontload because they really do have tons of genuine evidence and want to share it, and others frontload because the relationship isn't bona fide and they want to smother us in paper so we won't notice. (Also, notarized letters from other people attesting to the veracity of the relationship are not useful at all. I can make you a really nice-looking one in about 15 minutes right now, including a "stamp" from a "notary." )

We are much more concerned with the beneficiary's ability to credibly discuss the relationship than we are in the documents.

That said, for people reading this who have already frontloaded, don't worry, we won't hold it against you. We will just make sad muttering sounds about trees being killed before we call you to the window.

Confusing.

Yes I know they don't like affidavits much. There has been an on-going argument here that CO's only want to see affidavits of US citizens not foreigners even though its usually the foreign family that has meet you both seen you both and witnessed you both in varies settings.

I don't see how the affidavit from family that hasn't meet the immigrant and they say "Jimmy seems like a nice person and my daughter is happy", weighs more than Jimmy's mum and dad in wherever country saying " I have seen the two of them in varies settings and they are a happy loving couple". And yes a notary really. Why.

Now the poundage of evidence I agree cuz now scammers and fake couples (yes even USC's fake it too) can copy mounds of paper).

Heck i have read how one couple just copied like 10 pages over 1000 times and sent in. Another couple not having enough pictures decided 3 days before interview he fly there they changed clothes hairdo's and all over lagos did a photo op making it look like it spanned months. I have heard stamps faked in Passport (yes it can be done). I am good grief.

But for those who do have alot to tell and show go for it. No one wants to read 1000 pages of you sexting with each otherprotest6wz.gif . Or I love you's endlessly.

As I tell people submit the evidence that tells your love story. A page turner. Every page telling a little piece of what you are all about. Thats why that relationship timeline is so valuable.

What soneone needed to ask the CO was why they don't bother to look at the evidence you bring in if you aren't suppose to be submitting any evidence upfront. I mean you are basing your decision on wha then?? A hope and a prayer.

Gowon you got me started now.ranting33va.gifprotest6wz.gif

Sorry about that rose.gif

I thought it was a good read to see how this particular CO (seems to me to be the IV Chief) feels about certain topics that we discuss on here.

Like you, and seeing what just happened in Ghana recently where they did nto ask for the additioanl docs, it seems confusing.

I frontloaded but made sure to be what IMHO were good docs taht showed the bona fides of the realtionship as you stated and not just fillers.

This is good info for those comming up behind us I think.

Oh don't get me wrong. It is good info,. And yes confusing. I mean if you kistened to most on VJ its don't send asnything but a marriage certificate. You get to interview and they don't even want to look at you.

I do feel the interview is paramount and many USC's don't realize they SO can't hold their own. And if you can't speak to the relationship well than.

I always find suspect the post of the "they didn't even ask my hunni any questions they just deied them". That seems highly well don't want call people liars but we here are going by what is reported to us by the interviewee.

I don't know. Seems so subjective and it shouldn't.

Just like USCIS......wait thats a whole nother rant. LOL Thank you Gowon for posting it is interesting. Would love to have that SO all to myself I have some things to talk to them about.

I even saw a question on their that was like my situation. I about passed out. hehe

LOL......the muttering sounds about tree killing remark is hilarious.
I agree this is indeed so, not just for Nigeria but pretty much all countries.

USCIS officers make a big sigh having to scan everything into the computer and CO's fuss because

they have to deal with a mountain of papers.
When I came with my well stacked evidence to see the CO during a visit while in AP she said to me " I don't have time to read

all that. What makes you wake up one morning and start collecting all this evidence ?"
Insinuating that I over compensated for some mysterious reason which kicked in her 007 mode.

My answer was : " My lawyer advised me to do so and that it was needed."

However....she also said : " I am not convinced of a bona fide relationship."
I asked "what else do you want to convince you? "

She said "I can't tell you that." Oh really ? You want something but can't tell me what.

Emails, chats, phone logs, wedding rings engraved with our names shown in person with receipt,

evidence of 3 (at that time) trips, affidavits, gazillion photos,

loving caring communication and interaction, wedding garments receipt, blah blah blah.....you name it we had it.

So it is a damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of contradicting mess that is different for

each and every couple and up to them to pin point what the CO is looking for.

Even if you really have a very good interactive interview with bright smiles and all and you feel you got this,

they still want to see flowing evidence of consistent communication when apart.

My decision is to front load the second time around so I can say : My evidence of bona fide did not get looked at.
I am front loading it to make sure it will this time around.

The decision on how much to submit is a decision that can make you go bonkers.

Currently thinning it out because it looks like a master thesis on Mount Everest.

How does one shrink a mountain to a sizable-just-right- mole hill !

How does one please the un -pleasable ?

Add to that stuff from a 4 year long relationship and you do end up with quite a bit versus a 6-12 months

relationship. If you omit evidence from a 4 year relationship because it may be too much then they will

say what happened during the gap ....did you not communicate during that gap because you omitted evidence.

Lord have mercy !

Thanks for posting that, with all the aggravation it still made me smile the way the CO presented it.

I will include a note saying sorry for all the trees that were killed but .......long relationship, refusal, starting over

and I thought I needed to front load because CO said she was not convinced with our evidence. LOL.

Although they called us back 2 days after the interview to come back to the embassy and pick all of it up, kept what they needed including all required copies PLUS all my originals my husband took to his interview, they said we would receive the originals in the mail from the U.S but its been 7 months and no originals!!!! I think front-loading is essential in high fraud countries;however so is presentation.I sent in evidence with my petition ,the package probably weighed only 2 pounds. After joining VJ, I realized my error and decided to send in additional evidence, about 3 pounds (so i didn't go overboard). On VJ, I was told my additional evidence would never make it in my packet. I was lucky and everything i sent made it in the packet and was given everything back at the end of his interview.

All things being equal,The C.O having a great day and the sun shining,I imagine that there is some point system and evidence sent is graded a pass or fail.So front-loading is half the battle and the other half is the interview. we all know on game day its useless to have sent in your playbook if you don't know your own shi@.

People told me too that my additional information would not be matched up with what I originally set in. I made the stupid mistake of only sending in just application and paperwork, but then realized i was suppose to said in evidence too like 2-3 months after they had our app. but I sent it anyway, and it was also matched up. I didn't go overboard though. Just provided a variety of everything that would "paint" our picture.

LOL.

Very well said. My sentiments also.
