Timeline seems different to others

I'm not sure if I'm doing the timeline right but the times we have waited for things are so much longer than anyone else's that I've looked at doing the same thing from the same place. Is there usually a reason one may take longer? Like something's wrong, maybe?

you don't have a NVC Received : date. if you did, you've have more big blue buttons.

HI there! Your timeline has some errors...

You set your date of marriage as November 23rd of this year which has not yet occurred.

You turned in your I-130 in February and it was approved in a little under three months.. Seems pretty good!

You show that you paid the i-864 *before* the I-130 was approved which would not be possible so dates are entered wrong there as well..

You took six weeks to send in the DS-3032 after it hit NVC (going from when you said you paid the I-864 bill). You also took six weeks to pay the IV bill after receiving notification.. Your case does not move forward while these fees are waiting to be paid so the NVC process is taking longer that it normally would.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

I knew I did it wrong! Haha I'm terrible with dates.

We got married last year.

we have paid everything, my husband rang to make sure. We paid them 2 different payments and then waited 6 weeks before we rang asking what was happening and we were told we were meant to fill out the ds3032 after. My fault for not reading properly. So we did the alien registration form and he did the financial one and I sent in all the civil docs on the 24th of September. They received them on the 30th sep,

Does that make everything right on our end?

Sorry I got the ds3032 mixed up with the alien registration form, i meant that we didn't realise we had to do the alien registration form until we rang them, so it was quite a while after we paid everything.

It will take 20-30 business days for NVC to review the AOS and IV package. So if both packages arrived at NVC on Sept 30th, it may have been entered into their system on Oct 1 so you can expect an email from them probably around Oct 28, or sometimes sooner around the 15th business day (Oct 21).

so, if you sent off the ds-260 or ds230 on 2013-09-24

then I forecast 10-23-2013 for a case complete date.

Of course, that's just a forecast. For clarity, call into NVC, ask for casefile status, use a telephone.

Oh I hope you're right. I really want to be there for our anniversary and thanksgiving.

My husband did call them. I'm not sure what he asked them though, he said to me that they told him to just wait. Am I able to call the NVC from Australia and find out for myself or does he have be the one to call?

You can call NVC yourself. Be prepared to give your case number.

I used to call them everyday for real time updates. laughing.gif

If you're using an iOS or Android phone/device, download the MagicJack app so you can call NVC for free over WIFI.

Never heard of that! Thank you so much. Do you think the constant calling helped the case along at all?

Calling does not help per se, it only alleviates the anxiousness of not knowing what's going on.

I rather hear "ma'am you have to give us 20 or 30 business days to review your documents" than not hear anything at all.
