Sponsor support question

Can anyone tell me from experience what the embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine may be looking for as far as sponsor support?

I can show adequate annual income (42,000) but have assets of only $15,000. Do I need a co-sponsor?

I will supply letter from employer but have only worked for 3 months at this job.

Is this adequate?

Are you going to support a family larger than 7? then you may consider a co-sponsor.

If not, you wont need a co-sponsor or list assets. Your income can support a family of 8 at 125% of poverty line in the 48 states.

No, just me and my future wife.

I just wonder if all they look at is income as it is at present. What about the short duration of my work? I just got out of Peace Corps and was in college before that.

I see from your timeline that you got NOA2, I suspect you will have your 2006 return done by the time of an interview, you will provide that, along with a letter from your employer showing you salary amount, and job status, along with pay stubs up to the time of the interview. If your YTD gross income for 2006 is well above the 125% line you should be fine.

Letter from employer:

Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company letterhead.

Kyiv website has a lot of information on it. The I-134 is optional. If you can prove sufficent income (125% poverty) with paystubs, employer letter and tax returns then don't worry about assets.

YMMV

Don't presume! Kyiv is very quick on the interviews. If he gets P3 in he could have a scheduled interview by the 3rd or 4th week of January. The are currently scheduling week 2.

Say fwaguy, you seem to know about interview schedules in Kyiv. Have you been doing this. Yes, I have NAO2 and am going to Ukraine in a few weeks to bring documents and help with the Package 3 and Kev-1 things. It would be wonderful if the interview were scheduled in January! I suppose it also depends on NVC speed.

But are you or have you gone through the Kyiv interview process?

EVERANDEL,

Hi, question on the financial support at Kiev.

1) Were you able to fax or email scanned copies to your beneficiary to use on interview? reason I ask, I looked on Kiev website and they said it was fine to do that with I134f and supporting documents to make copies and scan in then email to beneficiary for interview, so then I email them and they confirm that, BUT as I have found out these government entities sometimes give you several answers or are not consistent or uniform all the time, so that is why I wanted to ask someone that actually went through already to make certain.

2) Also did the Kiev embassy keep all the financial information, or did they simply look at it to verify then hand it all back to beneficiary to keep?
