Oh - their casefiles are either:

1. in transit or

2. sitting in the china customs warehouse

Yer in for a wait, regardless of shutdown - it'l be 1 to 3 months before GUZ IV even opens the casefile.

Yeah, according to the latest status they are "ready for interview" from September 10.. so it got there already around end of August.. haha, I had tracked that for sure.. so I'm guessing end of October at least to get the appointment letter.. I hired a lawyer this time to do her parents thing (which I could have done of course), and she didn't do the Electronic Processing.. and I didn't know about it either until I read up (since it was past my wife's time).. seems like we are in for a wait..

I know, I'm currently in the waiting of the 1-3 month period since I didn't do the electronic processing.. so beginning of September, hopefully to get appointment letter by end of October.. haha, that's my estimate from the few IR5s I see on the internet from China..

haha, just had a good laugh now.. I tried editing my timeline and it said there were errors in red I needed to correct... "time between I-130/I-129F and NOA1 and approval seems to be too long".. that was for my wife.. hmm, not everyone had a good time with their approval, ok?

No. casefile opened - occurs when

--casefile transit from China customs warehouse then

--GUZ IV logs the casefile as being there then

--the casefile is opened, and this status is recorded in their computer system.

After casefile is opened, then the casefile is thrown into the scheduling queue (or they are allowed to self-schedule)

So, 'casefile opened' timetick is really important.

ya, visa issued on the 28th. but 'issued' is meaningless - just a tag in the system. gotta get the visa printed , then applied to the passport, then the visa packet generated, and the visa packet out the door to a CITIC bank courier.

Unsure what has transpired after the 28th, but based on what I can see with ustraveldocs, it's still inside the consulate, and the consulate closed 1,2,3 for the national holiday. Lets see what happens Friday, but - I've already told her it could be 1 to 2 weeks after 'issued' date, as theres stuff to do inside the consulate. plus transit.
