Hello there fellow VJ members.

I am utterly confused and shocked at the moment. We filed for our K1 Visa on September 10, 2013. I was so happy it was finally posted and we could begin our journey. I checked my status today, October 1, 2013 (I'm in Aus of course) and I see this:

Post Decision Activity

On September 30, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

Uhhh... what? blink.pngblink.png I was expecting 5 Months at the least!?! As far as I know this is NOA2 correct? I am in a bit of a predicament, as I have already purchased tickets for a 7 week visit at the end of this month. I bought these before we even sent the package off to start the visa. I don't really want to cancel my tickets but I really don't know what to do. I have pretty much ran out of air in the weirdness of this. 20 days to NOA2 CANT be right? Or someone must have dropped the files and mine end up on top? (lol) I'm no way complaining but yet feel 'cheated' that mine seems to have been approved fast. Maybe the shutdown had something to do with it. I'm a bit frazzled at the moment but you could probably understand why....

I had not even really looked into procedures after NoA2 because I was expecting to wait so long.

So, is this really NOA2 and I should expect a letter at my Fiance's doorstop soon?

Should I still take my holiday? Or is there now a limited amount of time to complete everything?

Thanks a bunch

-Mardi.

EDIT: Probably should mention, CSC is/was handling our case.

Wow! What great news for you!!

7 weeks from now, the embassy should be all ready for your medical/packet 3 forms/interview, but I don't see why you can't do the forms while you're in America, and schedule the medical for when you return to Australia. By the time you get back, you will probably be ready to make plans to go to your interview, and then come right back to the states!!

Enjoy yor trip! I would just suggest that you get those forms filled out and sent in, once the embassy receives your file. Mind you, that might take a while, but I always find that it is better to be prepared!

Thank you very much for the speedy response Ejjett. Definitely put my racing mind at ease. Plus I guess it will be easier to bring all of my Fiancé's paperwork I need back with me, rather than relying on our mail system. ClockWatch2.gif

I need to get my butt into gear. luv.gif

Oh and best of luck with your interview! :)

Congrats! Ours was also CSC, and was approved in 38 days. They've been speedy (with some, not all unfortunately) lately.

Good luck getting your remaining paperwork ready for the interview! I suggest starting now :)

And as for the NVC... it might take a while. We've been waiting 5 weeks for them to receive our file from CSC (since Aug 22 approval date).

well, it might be fast on the adjudication (congrats by the way ! )

but

i'd start paying attention to transit times between CSC and NVC for your casefile type.

Many folk have reported back, 2 months or more , for transit time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

We filed it from the US, but I was in Aus at the time of course. Many thanks to all the congratulations, and to those still waiting, I really hope it wont be much longer for you.

Good to know it might take a little while to be received by the NVC, this may sound weird but means I still get to enjoy my (pre-planned) holiday and might not need to stress too much with cramming everything in. I'll still bug them in a week or so time and see how it goes.

I am going to get my Police Certificate started before I leave which might save time as well as get my paperwork done and all brought back with me. I'm extremely excited and scared all the same. It's like life just goes, "Nope, you cant wait it out and chill like everyone else, you have to be ready NOW!" Took my poor Fiance by surprise too, we still need a few months for his vacation time to visit AU before we leave together. :)
