Hey guys,

I found out today that my case has been received from USCIS and they also gave me a case #. They told me over the phone they I will receive a letter in the mail with instructions.

1. What should I do next (immediately)? Do I have to wait for those instructions or can I do something before I receive that letter?

2. What are usually the steps once a case # has been assigned?

3. Any other suggestions/recommendations are welcomed.

Thanks in advance

so, you called, and got a case number. great !

IMO, call back, ask for invoice identification number, and beneficiary ID number, and give over email addresses on petitioner and beneficiary,

then ask that the AOS fee bill be sent to your email address.

Then wait a bit for the AOS Fee bill to hit the petitioner's email inbox.

Whilst waiting, study the DS-261 .

Usually, on first day of getting the consular casefile number, NVC isn't quite ready to start. However, the next day, they ARE ready to start, so make that phone call, ask for the things I've mentioned.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
