So, my fiancee and I are in disagreement about what is needed as supporting evidence to send with the i-134. To my understanding, all that is needed is last year's Income Tax transcripts, copy of the W2, Three most recent pay stubs, and a letter from my employer. She is insisting that I need to contact my bank and also get a statement from them with the date the account was opened, the total amount deposited for the past year and the present balance. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on here.

a lot of the reason you have conflicting information is due to the fact that every country handles these a little differently

the wisdom piece lends itself to having more documentation rather than risking a delay by having to submit more ####### to an interviewing officer.

if you get the transcripts, that is best... go ahead and order the past three years just in case.

the 134 instructions do list the employer letter and bank letter also

Generally bank statements are only needed if you do not qualify based on your income.

That is my feeling now also. I am a little p/o about all the hoops to jump through but it will all be worth it in the end.

hoops .. oh yes

pissed off? ..there are a ton of folks who are waiting more than 5 months and also those that have suffered ridiculous errors delaying their petition.. so yep everyone is a little upset for sure

patience is your friend

anxiousness is your enemy

knowledge is power

We chose to include bank statements because my fiance is in the military and we didn't feel having W2 and LES was enough financial proof since doesn't file tax on his own. We also had his CO write a letter about his pay etc. However, if you feel that your financial support evidence is enough, the bank statements shouldn't be necessary. But like Stevie said, its better to be prepared and just send them everything you have so that you dont risk further delay in case they need more evidence. You never know what they want dry.png
