2 Important Questions about keeping the same answers throughout and reapplying if denied

Hello,

I am a US Citizen and my Fiance is a Japanese Citizen.

1.) So far everything is going good with our Visa process. Only things we kind of messed up are questions like, list all the times you went to the USA (because my fiancee was so young when she was like on a family trip to Alaska, probably not even 10 years old, so she didn't recall this information). I don't think such little thing will be an issue for us. I'm thinking we should probably answer the question the same way again (because the question is also on DS-156). We shouldn't add extra information onto the DS-156, that we forgot to put on the DS-230, right?

2.) Also, if for some reason they deny the Visa because of any small mistakes, what would be a normal/acceptable time to re-apply? Would we have to start from square one (i.e. I-129-F)?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wrong, you need to answer this question honestly, no matter how trivial it may seem. An updated DS-230 can be brought to the interview.

Concentrate on putting the correct information on the forms. Small mistakes can mean big problems down the road.

Be careful using U.S. slang when asking a question.

Thanks to both of you for your posts. Ryan, would she just pronounce it as an updated DS-230 at the interview? Would it be better for her to resend it now before the interview or will that just confuse the people handling the paperwork? Like I said, it might've been like 3 days in Alaska at the age of 7 years old. If she can't easily find that information, is it really necessary to dig and dig to find out? Any further input on this would be appreciated. Also, was the embassy supposed to send something back or reply in some way upon receiving the DS-230 Part 1 via mail.

You might e-mail the embassy (with your case number, etc. in the Subject line), report the omitted information with your explanation and the details that you know of, state that you'll bring an updated form to the interview, and request acknowledgment. Whether they acknowledge your e-mail or not, print a copy of it to take to the interview with the updated form. This should cover you, and it also shows your willingness to be completely forthcoming.

I have differing answers on some of the forms I submitted - mainly on my I129F when listing my employment for the last (however many years) I did not include my current weekend job. I wasn't even thinking - I work for family and love what I do... I guess it just slipped my mind!

I added the 'extra' info in my Packet 3 I sent to the MTL consulate without issue. They approved and sent our my Packet 4 a week later. They may question me in the interview?! But really.. honest mistake - and its all legit - so I'm not sweating over it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not really sure what a packet 3 is, but that probably had to do with some of the forms we already sent in.

I had my fiancee email them admitting that it was an honest mistake, and saying that she is ready to take in a new DS-230 during her interview.

We sent the email to: support@ustraveldocs.com, because I couldn't find another email address for the US Embassy in Tokyo. I hope that is the correct one.
