I did talk to tier 2 today, they said mine is still at NBC. I asked if him if it is going to get transferred or not. He said it probably wont. I am getting different info from them all the time. Don't know who's right.

realistaclly I think that you can only find out information on things that have happened. I wouldn't even bother to ask them to use their talents and give me some educated guesses.. just read the privileged info on the screen

How long does it take for I-130 approval? I know that abroad filers get approved faster but my question is how long does it take for U.S filers? I live in U.S and my wife lives in India.

Every case is different. Country or origin, USCIS office, paper work are all varibles that are different and change the times from case to case. What was normal processing times 3 months ago may not be normal processing times now. It seems lately processing times are longer. With all that said, I think about 3-6 months would be a normal range. ANything before 3 months would be really fast. Anything after 6 months would be considered slower but not abnormal by any means.

Looks like we have the same priority date of March 18th. I am living abroad in Vietnam with my wife. We got an RFE issued on June 5th for a date on some paper work. The RFE took 20 days to reach us in Vietnam on June 25th. We just sent it back last week. Without that I feel like our case would of been approved by now, but who knows. If you look at some of the processing times for registered users on this website you can see that not many March filers have been approved as of yet. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=4&option=3&sortby=2

Called USCIS today and talked to Tier2 officer. Officer told me that the file will be sent to the local field office. She did not tell me when.

That's because probably she doesn't know. They will send the files into batches and when that batch would be released for shipping and which files would be included is unknown to the IO, I believe.

Today is 2 months and 3 days since I filled i130 from US. I spoke today to a Tier2 officer. He told me that since my wife is overseas, the case will not be transferred. It will be processed at NBC. Is this right? Also, he said the wait time is 7.5 to 8 months.

Different answers, more confusions.

That was the answer I got two weeks ago from tier2 but today tier2 said they going to send it to the local field office. I think they are having fun making us confused with different answers. :)

Yeah they are really confusing us. Mine was going to be sent to local office now they are not. I'm sure if I call back next week the answer will be different. I am just getting sick and tired of their run around. How is it possible that every person I talk to has different answer if they are relaying the msg. that is on their system. Worthless...and I won't be calling or getting stressed about it, there are more important things in life then spending time with these people.

Our petition was received March 4 and it's officially been four months. Should I be calling someone? I keep reading the forums but I'm getting confused with the tiers and I don't know what to ask. Some advice would be great!

If you call again and ask the tier2, you will probably get different answer. 10 days ago I called they told me the same. I called 3 days ago and they told me my file is waiting to be transferred. Not sure which tier2 to believe? If they looking at the computer screena dn answering the questions, the answers should be the same but it is not.

Can you please update your timeline? Thanks in advance.

Yes call and ask for tier2. At least find out where your file is located or what is going on with it. Nothing wrong with keeping track of it. Can you see the status online? Is your receipt number starts with MSC? If so your file is in Missouri service center.

When I enter the receipt number on USCIS it says "initial review" and I'm almost positive it starts with MSC. I can't check ATM because I'm at work. I'll definitely call then just to see. The predicted timeline here on visajourney says I should expect adjudication between July 22 and September but it's just difficult not hearing anything
