Is new forms causing NVC to slow down

Hi All

I called NVC today and they say they cannot tell me how long I have to wait for IV bill to be invoiced. When I called them Last week, they had asked me to wait 10 business days after submitting DS-261 and now they are saying they cannot predict how long I have to wait for IV bill. Also they have received my AOS application yesterday and they are saying it may take 30 business days ( about 1 and 1/2 month to review it). Why NVC is getting slow? is it because they implemented new forms : DS-260 and DS 261 or for some other reason?

Is there anyone on the same boat I am in?

They said the same thing to me. 30 days, instead, 20 days as was before.

I'm waiting for a date interview.

I feel they have slowed WAY DOWN....I've been told the 30 days as well and I'm getting told different things by different people too as far as the DS 260. I'm just going to fill it out regardless now. Very frustrating! I thought we were so close and things keep pushing us back.

trixiechick75, Your Signature shows you are having hard time in NVC stage, I can definitely understand the pain you are going though these days. Hope your journey may end soon.

IMO the NVC slowdown is directly related to the daca buildup from last year

over 40 million visa applications processed in 2012 through the nvc.... I hope that helps your understanding as to why there is a current delay

Stevie b, appreciate your response. I did not know daca process will include NVC also in its process loop, I thought only USCIS will be in daca process loop. Thats good to know. I have been waiting patiently to be with my wife for more than 18 months here, I know some people have wwaited for more than this and I can definitely understand their feelings. I am crossing my finger and lifting my hope that I may be able to celebrate this coming Christmas with her here.

sorry it is taking so long for you, when I read your type of story I feel very lucky.

for your situation, just make sure you are fully prepared to pull every trigger coming your way as quick as possible according to the vj shortcuts. I did my best but got an rfe due to my bonehead error of not checking a box, so I gave myself my own additional month's delay.

I'm at the same stage just hoping to get that IV invoice email. I was hoping to today I saw an email but was an inquiry I made 3 weeks ago which doesn't matter now
