CEAC shows issued but in AP??

Has anyone got the below CEAC status? very confusing, it shows "issued" but with the content saying it is in administrative processing. My interview was approved at the end of Aug.

I called DOS and was told my visa hasn't been issued, they wouldn't explain why it shows "Issued" with AP. I asked if I need to send more document, they said no and what I can do is to wait.

My question is why the CO told you it was approved but you case still goes to AP? Do COs approve your case and later on come to ask for more documents?

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Issued

Immigrant Visa Case Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Case Creation Date: XX-XXX-2010 Status Updated Date: 11-Sep-2013

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.

Please note: Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. Also, some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

Hi all,

I have the same situation, having the status as "ISSUED" on CEAC but the message says it is in administrative processing. If you are still active, could you please let me know how it went for your case? and how long did it take to receive your passport? Thanks for your help...

Technically, everyone gets AP. The AP that the horror stories are made of are the extended AP deals, the ones that last for many months.

But most AP is the normal post interview processing, the one that takes maybe 1 to 2 weeks or so. Someone has to look at the file to make sure nobody missed anything, the visa has to be printed out and attached to the passport, the consular unit has to sign off on a final inspection, etc. This routine stuff is also called AP and takes typically 1 to 2 weeks, although in a busy consulate it could take 2 months or more.

Just keep watching CEAC. Your status will probably change to ISSUED in about a week or so.

Also note that sometimes the status changes between AP and READY 2 or more times before it goes to ISSUED. This is also normal and nothing to worry about.

Just watch CEAC and wait for the ISSUED.
