Packet 3

My K-I fiancé packet was delivered by DHL from NVC and was signed on August 26th at the US Embassy in Accra Ghana. My question now is how does my fiancé get his packet 3? Does he have to go to the embassy without an appointment and inform them that he's there to take his packet 3? or Will the US Embassy in Ghana call him or mail the packet 3 to him? Please help? Thanks

The embassy will mail you a formal letter a few weeks later saying that they have processed your petition and that your fiance can pick up his packet on any Wednesday at 9am. However, if you email the embassy (addresses listed in the 'embassy info' tab on this website about the packet, they will respond with an email for your fiance to print out and bring with him when he goes to pick up the packet. It cuts about 2-3 weeks out of the waiting process. I did this. My petition was processed on the August 12th and he was able to get his packet on the 21st. He now has a september 30th interview date.
