Scheduling appointment question

Our file has been received at the Embassy in Algeria, but they have not sent out any letter to my fiance. When I go to the CEAC site link, it gives instructions to schedule appoitment on line. But in the requirements on the actual US Embassy page, it states they have to bring their appointment letter....I am confused.

I e-mailed them last week and have received no response. I called them and they state I have to e-mail for visa inquires.

Is their anyone who has dealt with an Algerian visa that could help me??? Should we just schedule the interview online??

I haven't had to email an American embassy yet, but in my work I've had to deal with Latin American embassies on a project a while ago. And my experience taught me this:

**YOU MAY BE WAITING A WHILE FOR AN EMAIL RESPONSE.**

Especially if you're emailing a general listed email, that probably gets a lot of volume. So if you're panicking that you haven't gotten a response in 48 hours, it may still come.

On that note next time you call see if they have a specific email for k1 inquiries. Some do.

It also depends on when they received your petition. Sometimes mail can be slow, sometimes it may take them a little while to get it out.

My suggestion: pop on over to the regional sub forums and see if anyone there has some advice on dealing with your embassy. Maybe they can be slow with sending things out. I'm not sure.

I am pretty sure if you reread your past posts this has been covered. Anyway it takes a few weeks for the embassy to respond to any email. You need to send them an email requesting the packet, at the same time have your fiance call to get he earliest medical appointment, once you have that email send them a request for the the earliest interview after his medical appointment.
