Hi All,

I am US Citizen & I have filed for my spouse to immigrate from India, (she leaves in state of Gujarat in India) on Feb 21 2013. On Feb 26, 2013 I recieved Letter from USCIS informing me that they have recieved my spouse's application. But I haven't heard back from them yet. I called them but they are telling me same thing which I am finding out online. Can Someone please tell me what is the current wait time... or what month application are USCIS currently working on.

What is current estimate.

Thank you..

You need to talk to a tier 2 to find out where your petition is. It may be at your local office (which would be Atlanta.) Generally it takes 6-8 months to get NOA2. You can do a service request or get your senator or congressman liaison involved if the case has gone over 6+ months. If you case is in Atlanta be prepared for a year wait at least, during which time you should joint the Atlanta Transferrers thread in the progress reports forum.

When you call USCIS Customer service number, ask the representative to transfer to 2nd level immigration officer ( tier 2 representative). Tier 2 have more access to your application. Customer service representative can see whatever you see on your screen.

If the case gets delayed, then call the senator or congressman's office and ask them that you need help regarding your wife's immigration process. They will get someone to help you.

Hope this helps and I can understand the lonelyness and pain of being seperated from legally married wife. Hold your patience, she will be here soon

Sometimes it takes 6-8 mths for approval in some countries

Country is most irrelevant for the petition. The reason country may be important is for evidence load and/or name or FBI checks. But for the most part most petitions take from 4-12 months.

My husband lives in California & has filed an I-130 petition for me. The USCIS received it last March 29, 2013. So far all our papers are complete & we are just waiting for a decision as we check our case status on their page. Its been already 5 months now & our case status is still in initial review. My friend has the same case with mine but hers only took 3 months to be approve. Why us is taking this long? Please somebody help us thanks!

No one can help you I'm sorry. You just have to wait. The USCIS won't even do a service request until at least 6 months.

So Today I contact USCIS, Tier 2 customer service, and they have informed me that my file, is located at local field office. and they will submite request for further details from field office since it has already hit 6-8 month time frame. So, Appreatly Becasue I live here in ATLANTA, GA I am guessing file have been sent here in ATL. They are still saying that file can take about 6-8 month for processing.
