Interview day was exhausting not because of the embassy just because we were super nervous...

1. my fiance come with me - YES IT WAS REALLY HELPFUL.

2. We got there around 7:15 am, and our appointment was at 8:45 am and there was already tons of people on the line (specially relatives, families, we didn't see any other american or couple which made me doubt at the beginning if it was necessarily for him to come.

3. A lady was putting the line in order and pull us out the line, put the number 9 in our appointment letter, and took as to another line, which was shorter, it was the line for american citizen.

4. we passed the regulation controls, they keep your cellphone in the door made you take out your jackets and belts (by this time there we saw lots of people getting in the embassy)

5. we follow the arrows to another open area, there were lots of people waiting, another guy who worked there saw us, asked for our letter appointment, and told us to get in this inside area, there were only 8 people inside (mostly old people who were grandparents, relatives of the people who was in the USA), my fiance was happy because it was really cold and he didn't wanna wait outside, so we were sitting in this little sofas waiting for our turn inside.

6. we were the 3rd calling to the window( i was expecting to be the #9 and i was supper anxious because i could here tons of people were called outside), actually they called my name, and my fiance and i when to he window, they just asked for my DS 156 copies and my pictures then told me to wait to pay the fee

7. Around 9am they let in lots of people and by that time a lady on the other window called my name again (my fiance stood up with me) and she asked for the rest of my documents, and my medical exam (which is open in front of you) she asked him how did we met, he said where (his accent is kind of difficult) and i could tell the lady had a difficult time understand it she asked me in Spanish if how did we met, i told her, also asked in Spanish if he speak Spanish ( i was translating to him all the time - I MADE HIM PART OF THE CONVERSATION) he said no, just a little, he said "poquito", she smile, and also giggle about an anecdote we told her about our beginnings, she though it was cute, she said: "desde jovencitos, que lindos", when i talk about how me met i also said he came to peru several times after the first time i when to USA (when we met) and then he propose and met my family and met my mom and talk to my mom. for the consul seem to be funny or nice he had to talk to my mom, cos she start making jokes about it like saying, "claro que tienes que conocer a la mamá", i translate that to him and he said yeah. I was afraid of the i-34 but she didn't even look at it, also didnt asked for evidence, i had to tell her, here are my evidence (it because it cost me a lot to put all those pics together on a nice folder and everything, with conversations, etc) and she said oh ok, give it to me and pass it trough the window. she said we should wait a little to pay our fee ( the lady on the cashier was running late)and then we were gonna be call for a consul. This lady is Peruvian, they made the whole interview in Spanish but know some words in English and understand English. She also makes you put your fingerprints from both of your hands (wish was hard for me cos i was nervous so my fingertips where little watery)

8. after 10 min, the cashier came in we pay 240 in dollars and that was it we were told to wait again, by this time there was lots of people inside but not near us.

9. and old lady came in and made us do an oral commitment that says we were filing for a visa and that everything we said its true in Spanish, she was american.

10. after 20 minutes and after one person get into this other room area (its a whole white room, look like the tv prison shows where you have to talk trough a glass to the other person with 2 chairs)we were called, well they called my name.

11. we get into this white room, there was this lady (the same lady , american who made our commitment)with a pink file with my ds 156 forms, and my documents, the first thing she does is to put ur finger prints on this little machine to check if its you - lol - then she asked my fiance if he speaks spanish he says no, and she asked me so we are doing this in english and i said yeah, so she is like ok then lets start. She check the file she had and asked for my dhl confirmation, i gave it to her, and she asked how did we meet, we talked here, we were more interactive, she laugh about our starting as a couple (because we weren't or start dating when we met, actually start dating after 9 months or a year)then she asked where i was gonna live, and if my fiance lives along (he said yeah since 21) she said i speak really good english, my fiance talked there and said she was better lol - then she said, well for me you are approved, and she close my file, she said oh here are your evidence (pictures and all the stuff like conversations, mail, etc)i didn't check on it, but ok let me check it really quick (she did, meanwhile i was talking trying to connect the pics with the anecdotes we told her)she saw it really quick, and give it back to me and she said well you are still approve, we smile, then she said, oh i forgot to asked you, but i think they asked you this already, do you have kids, have you being divorce before (while she was asking this we were both nodding, and then i and he said no kids but planning on, maybe a year, but not now, she said ok good, well you are approved and told me about how i have to keep my x rays with me when i get to USA for the immigration office (she gave me a paper that says congratulations u are approved, and said you have to sing in for a dhl place to pick up your passport)

12. after that we actually asked some questions, about marriage and the other form or next step, she was nice to answer us.

13. my fiance says the lady in the window (who asked for all my documents and medical exams) is the one who approve us, and that's why the second lady was so nice, i also think the first lady is the one you have to convince and she needs to known u have all your documents with you.

*For us was really good, and the fact he when with me, help me to be more "relax", because we were talking and jocking around just being ourselves, in my experience with USA interview ( i had student visa before) you can get any counsul, maybe one can asked u for evidence, other only like to hear you, others just want to see you financials, etc SO YOU MUST BE PREPARE AND BRING EVERYTHING WITH YOU. Another important thing is that you talk about ur experience make ur fiance get involve int he conversation, i've read lots of times that the interview in the window is in spanish (true) so they just talk to the beneficiary (kinda true) if you involve ur fiance the consul would let you. For me the prove of fire is the lady or guy in the window he or she asked u for all ur forms, and if she things something is weird shell re asked u again.

That's it , good look to everyone! :D
