Hi,

My fiance is worried because his DS 2001 was received by the embassy Aug, 27; but, he hasn't received ANY letter about his interview date yet. He was wondering when to expect a letter, because its already been over a week. He also wanted to know if he would receive a call, email, or just the letter. Thanks so much, please respond he's quite worried.

Hey, I PM'd you a reply to your PM on this, but to add the gist of it here..mine took around 2 weeks to get a letter, and got no email or any other notification of the interview date. Some people are taking longer than that and the embassy says UP TO 4 weeks. I do think about 2 weeks is more the norm right now so that means you'll likely get your letter in the post next week sometime possibly. Hard to tell what the date for an interview you'll get. May depend on what dates you put in your cover letter. Best of Luck. Hope it goes smoothly for you.

Do you mean that the embassy has actually logged the forms, as in you have talked to DoS and they have said that the embassy has received your file?

Or do you mean that you know the embassy received it because it was sent with a tracking number when you mailed it?

Currently, I am at week 4 for sending my papers, and there the DS-2001 has not been logged, so my fiancé is still ineligible for an interview. There are a lot of us in this situation, and unfortunately there is nothing we can really do about it!

Good luck to you!

Start your counting when the last item arrives. For example Ejjet had a medical on 15-Aug, so start counting weeks at 19-Aug which is likely the earliest the report got there. That's 2 wk, 2 days waiting after everything was there at the embassy.
