Vancouver --how does the Interview date work?

How does the interview date get assigned? We'd like an interview in mid-to-late January. Is there somewhere we can request a date? Is one just assigned randomly?

I just have no idea how the logistics of all of this works. We haven't sent in the checklist yet. I know we need to do that, but then what?

At the bottom of the checklist you can request a date. They do everything in their power to assign you the date you request (within reason). But I wouldn't completely count on it.

We will be faxing back our checklist tomorrow (or today) and are requesting February 1st as a date. We would rather put a date out a little bit and get the day of hte week we want (a Thursday) rahter than have it sooner on a date that conflicts with his medical exam. :)

on the last page of the checklist you can requiest a "preferred date"

They seem to be scheduling interviews for the end of january now. I requested Jan 3rd but it looks like I probaby wont get on until the 20th or later. I haven't recieved packet 4 yet though, and they haven't responded to my email in a week lol so I dont know when my date is yet.

If there is a reason you don't want it any earlier than mid to late, I would note that down as well. I think they just assume everyone wants the earliest possible. I actually did want the last week of November, but they gave me an earlier one, so I had to rush a few things.

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

09/27/06 - forwarded to consulate

20/11/06 - visa in my pocket!

14/01/07 - POE

13/04/07 - marriage

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

02/17/07 - AP and EAD arrive

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

Excellent. Thanks so much for posting the pdf, Cass. It's been hard to advise C. without being able to see anything.

His medical is January 10 (we've had to schedule a lot around his job), and so we don't want the interview any earlier than that! But our NOA2 expires 2/12, so we really need to get this checklist in.
