Hello all,

I'm happy to report that at 12am on the dot last night I received a text from the USCIS that our petition was approved and the NOA2 is on the way! I called last Thursday (+5 months and 2 days) and they told me when I called that I should be hearing in the next week and if I didn't hear anything to call them again. Somewhat jaded at this point after having waited so long (and somewhat jealous while happy for you all that have progressed much more quickly) I chalked it up as I was going to wait a week and then call again, and again, and again..... So I was really happy when I woke up this morning and saw the text message and verified it online at USCIS. We're both very excited that the process seems to be finally moving forward.

NOA1 - 9/16/13

Alien Reg # changed - 10/8/13

NOA2 email - 2/24/14

First of all, wooooohooooo! Very excited for the two of you, so glad that things finally came through! It's felt like an eternity, yes?

My fiancé and I are on exactly the same timeline as you (NOA1 on September 16th, called last Thursday - weird!), so quite heartening news for us, as well. I definitely agree that it's been difficult at times to watch others' speedy progress, but your post gives me some hope that we're not far behind...

Another poster confirmed a few days that TSC is indeed working on this date range (2nd week of September 2013), so my next question is for the rest of you who, prior to receiving your NOA2s, had been told that they were "currently working on your date range". Approximately how long from the time when they were "working on it" to when you received you actual NOA2?

Trying to manage our expectations and minimize the intensity of the highs and lows (wake up everyday full of hope that maybe you have that fated email, go to sleep every night severely disappointed), so it would be great to have an idea of the timing from your experiences. Thank God for this forum!

Thanks all, and congrats again Gargravaar!

Fantastic news! I knew you wouldn't have any problems. So you know, my fiance's CEAC changed from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing" the day after his interview (20/02) and then to "Issued" yesterday (24/02). It's an odd feeling to have nothing to worry about from USCIS for a few more months. I'm sure we'll all enjoy the break! Again, congratulations!!!

Thank you! That info is quite handy because now I have a rough idea of what happens when. Its still on Ready atm but I will keep an eye out for it. So nice to take a paperwork break lol.

I have also written an embassy review. Thank you to everyone for the help :)

Have you searched SRC numbers near yours? I did that and noticed that several before me had been approved and then our was approved shortly after. Just a thought.

I just now searched a handful of SRC #'s near mine and found that a couple had RFEs that were yet to be responded to and a few that have not been approved yet. My NOA1 was 23rd September if my memory serves me correctly. I would say NOA2 is coming for you any day now. Hang in there.

Thank you both for the congrats and the well wishes. Hang in there, sounds like you're very close. It definitely feels like an eternity at this stage particularly with radio silence until the normal processing time passes. Best of luck! :)

From what I understand, after you submit the required documents it goes relatively quickly. A girl from the UK forum was denied because her birth certificate was tatty and her bio page in her passport was peeling. She got a new copy of her birth certificate and a rushed new passport and was approved within days. Depending on how quickly you get the documents and get them to them.

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you as it's something completely out of your hands. Do you not have a birth certificate after your adoption? My son was adopted and his original birth certificate was destroyed and he was issued a new one with his new name and mine and my ex husband's name. This was in the US, so it may not be the same process where you're from. Nonetheless, I hope things work out for you and quickly.

Trixie, thanks for the suggestion! I actually had no idea that was how the numbering worked!

I tried the SRC numbers adjacent to ours and everyone else is at least approved, if not in post-approval activity phase. Am I to take this as a sign that approval is imminent or that something's gone awry with ours? Patience or panic???

I'm thinking that I will check in again with a Tier 2 rep this evening (it's been exactly 1 week since I called)...how do you all feel about that? Appropriate at this point to be making weekly calls or too pushy and I just need to cool my heels a bit longer?

I do very much appreciate having the VJ community to bounce these ideas off of!unsure.png

I would call a Tier 2 again, but that's just me. I do think approval is imminent as a different adjudicator may have had the approved files you saw. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the info... In Korea, they do not issue birth certificates at the hospital but rather when you register your child. In my case, I was never registered. I am keeping my fingers crossed and staying hopeful the embassy can help me out

Question, the Sydney Consulate is asking for DS-160 in our email. However on one of their links it says you need to submit (Forms DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230 (Parts I and II). But then online I have read that DS-156/k and DS-230 were consolidated into the online form DS-160 in 2013.

Can you someone confirm, please? I have asked the consulate just to be sure.

THANKS!!!!!!
