Thanks! Every time I ask them they just tell me they don't have that information. All I know is it arrived on the 4th.

So as I am moving forward it seems like what people are saying to do next is the DS-160, pay the visa fee, and schedule her medical exam right? I'm a little confused because the NVC agent I talked to today said to not do anything until the packet has arrived in manila. Is there a problem if she starts getting these things done right now?

pay the visa interview fee of $240, wait for the embassy to receive the payment and schedule the interview online, you have to do it fast, as of 8:05 am Manila 12/6/2013 the earliest available date slot is on March 24, 2014.

We were able to schedule the medical, get all the police reports and sent off everything she needs. She still hasn't received a packet 3 from the Jerusalem consulate but we got the packet 3 off the website and did everything. Medical needed her JRS2013# so we had to have it to perform medical. Also, filed out the DS-160 online.

Thank you, I had read on another post that the doctor wouldn't do the medical until you had an interview booked. But maybe that was either consulate or doctor specific, I'll have to look into it.

21 Sep 2013 - Filed i-129F

27 Nov - NOA2 email received (63 days since NOA1)

30 Jan 2014 - NOA2 sent to NVC (64 agonizing days) P.S. Apparently VJ doesn't care about accurate timelines.

11 Feb - Got Case number

24 Feb - Packet 3 Received and Submitted

25 Feb - Packet 4 Received and Submitted

29 Apr - Medical (Dr Cheema)

01 May - Vancouver Consulate Interview - Approved!

06 May - Visa in hand!

06 June - Entered the USA!

14 June - Married!

Ok will do. Thank you very much. Wow I didn't think slots were filling that fast.

So should we also be completing the DS-160 and scheduling her for her medical exam right now or do we need to wait until the packet is in manila?

Thank you so much Palmtrees, yes i was so excited and looks like when you get the NVC case number it goes a little faster now,i already have my interview schedule and medical smile.png hope everyone receives good news here as well smile.png Smooth sailing friend smile.png

Wow congrats! I'm guessing scheduling your interview that fast is specific to your country? I don't remember reading people doing this for the US Consulate in Brazil. So NVC sent out your packet the next day? Where did you find that out?

What's the advantage of getting the case number ASAP? Don't we have to wait until it gets to the consulate, and they contact us for packet 3? (Which would include the case number)

Or is there something we can do with it in the meantime?

The only advantage for us (he'll be interviewing in London) was the ability to track the case on the CEAC site. You'll know when it ships from NVC to the consulate and when it's 'Ready'. We didn't want to do the DS-160 or do the medical before our case arrived and was ready or before he was instructed to do so. We aren't in a massive rush as we were planning on an early May arrival here and that hasn't changed.

It's under Immigrant Visa. Here's a link:
