I have a question for all my September filers; on your timelines did you list the NOA1 date as the date you received it? That might explain why all the dates are off....

The NOA1 date should actually be the priority date, right?

USCIS

9/23/2013: Sent I-130 petition to Chicago Lockbox through UPS
9/25/2013: I-130 delivered by UPS (Priority Date)

9/26/2013: NOA1

3/04/2014: Transferred to NSC

4/17/2014: NOA2

4/23/2014: Case shipped to NVC

5/05/2014: Case arrived at NVC

5/29/2014: Case number and IIN received

6/06/2014: DS-261 available and completed

6/09/2014: AOS fee invoiced and paid

6/10/2014: AOS fee shows as "paid"

6/16/2014: Date NVC is going by for DS-261 because I "re-opened" it

I listed my Priority Date- 9/6- and this is the date on USCIS status thingy website, too.

My Notice Date is 9/9.

Don't know what's the difference.. but am using my PD.

6/20/2014- IV invoice email (but fee still locked on CEAC )

6/23/2014- IV fee finally unlocked and paid.

The NOA1 date should actually be the priority date, right?

That's what I thought...

I just looked at my I-797 and saw 2 dates. The first date is the notice date (I think that's when USCIS sent it to me). Then underneath the receipt number is the priority date (which is the date USCIS received the petition).

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

Initially I listed my ND as my NOA1, too... then changed it to PD.

I think we should stick to PDs as those are the dates USCIS actually uses.

My notice mentions 3 dates:

Received date: 9/9

Priority date: 9/9

Notice date: 9/10

I agree using PD makes sense so I changed my timeline NOA1 from 9/10 to 9/9. If you could update that in the spreadsheet as well, that would be great.

Thanks for taking the lead with this! Looking at the August thread, it seems very helpful.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Now that you say that, I believe that you are correct. The NOA1 date should be the "notice date" and not the "priority date".

honestly, i don't think the two dates are that different. mine only differs by 1 day between the PD and the ND

Well, NOA stands for Notice of Action, so it seems like we should go by our Notice Dates.

However, if you check your status here https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do it will show your Priority Date. And they transfer cases in order of PDs. Right?

Ughhhh, I am confused myself, now!

We need to go off the PDs, because that appears to be the order in which USCIS is transferring cases. I was looking at the other spreadsheets and it appears the PD date is what everyone else is using. I know it might only be a day difference, but once the transfers start, that day will make a difference.
