Read this next and start to memorize it: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse (Only change is that there is no DS-230 anymore, only DS-260, so that info. is outdated since September 2013.) Other than that, it is perfectly good.Shanijav, you will need to do a lot.

I recommend you join the NVC thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/472916-nvc-filers-january-2014/

Read the first posts by Saylin. She knows a LOT. Really really read it thoroughly and try to memorize the process. You will constantly be reading back. I used the first link that I provided to you a LOT.

Congratulations on your NOA2.

You will need police certificates for anywhere she lived for more than 6 months, by the way. And certified translations for any documents in any language other than English (they require them to be notarized in some places, but certification is ok in others...better to do it right, I recommend. Get them notarized.) The police certs expire in 6 months, so don't do them too soon. We took 4 months in NVC, if that gives you some help.

Hope that helps & isn't more info. than you ever wanted....

Hi everyone,

Christmas is over, the New Year has come and gone and we are all still waiting!

My husband wrote a really good letter to our Senator's and also copied in the New York Times. It would appear that the Senator did contact the USCIS and were advised that our Case is still under review. However, the NYT have contacted my husband and they are interviewing him this coming week on this situation that many of us find ourselves in. Perhaps some positive publicity coming up for us????

My husband took a job back in the US, commencing 1st September. Our children, ages 13 and 14 (both US Citizen's) and I haven't seen my husband since August while we are waiting for our NOA2. I have previously had a Green Card but it expired in 2011 while we were living here in Australia and it cannot be reviewed, rather we have to reapply again! We are all getting excited here though as he heads down to Australia, arriving next Sunday for a two week holiday. We are all going to make the most of our time but it will be hard to say goodbye!

I contacted a supervisor at NVC and she instructed me to write a letter of explanation to accompany my "real" checklist response. She also told me this may not help me and that we may be back in line. Lord help us!

Hi everyone, just checking in since it's been a while. So news is that we're being transferred? I'm assuming that Overland Park was just a storage unit for the time being or a placeholder?

Hubby visited over the holidays and left on Sunday. It was a tough goodbye, but he should be back in March to visit with his father as well (his 2nd time in the states).

I send a letter to my senator yesterday along with signed privacy release forms pertaining to investigating our I-130 case, and supporting documentation showing that if the current processing trends continue, that it may two years since we originally filed with USCIS when our case will be completed (I was part of the I-129F hell when it was really backlogged - and now they're speedy ... GRR). I was very polite, yet stern in stating how USCIS is unreliable when it comes to processing times because of their inconsisties and fluctuations. Fingers crossed that I'll actually get a response. If not, well, it won't change anything and I'm back to where I was. Tomorrow will mark one year since I filed with USCIS. mellow.png

Hope all of you had good holidays and/or some time off. Looking forward to actually seeing some news come from our group!

Well, NBC is only transferring July cases now, not adjudicating them.. Not yet. A lot of people from March, April, May and June are still waiting..

I think we have at least 3 more months of waiting...

Yeah, I figured as much too. Too bad we all couldn't be sent where there isn't a massive pile of cases already waiting to be touched.

Your hubs recently came to visit as well, right? The first week or two is always the worst when you have to get used to going back to the phonecalls and messages. Sigh. And I'll def let y'all know if I even get acknowledged by his office. I called his head office in Dallas, and the man who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. I asked if I could just send it straight to DC, and he said I could, but that it would be re-routed to Dallas anyway because that office handles requests for investigations of cases within a federal system. lol. Here goes nothin'!
