September 2013 I-130 Filers

Morning all

I got to Florida last night and my NOA2 was waiting for me, and my case was transferred to Texas, and the notice date is February 27. There was also a separate sheet of paper explaining that because of a backlog at the NBC, they are transferring cases elsewhere, ie Nebraska, Texas and California

However, I'm still confused over the course of events. Although the NOA2 is dated February 27, a few days later on March 7, I received an email from USCIS which actually used the word 'approved'. I think it said 'we have approved your petition'. So does this mean that between Feb 27 and March 7, someone in Texas looked at my case and actually worked on it and approved it? Or was the email of March 7 just another pointless email?

Nope. Here's what it said. Someone must have worked on it because of the 'post decision activity' thing. The separate letter that came with the NOA2 also said that I should call them if I don't receive a decision within 60 days. The whole thing is way too confusing.

I mean, it does mention the department of state, but not that it's actually been passed to them

I'd say that's an approval, though they haven't sent it out to the NVC yet. Definitely not just a transfer notice..

September was unusually quiet last night. No approvals?!?

I'd say that's an approval, though they haven't sent it out to the NVC yet. Definitely not just a transfer notice..

Ours said the same, I think it's an approval notice rather than transfer notice, I don't think we've actually received the hard copy yet, but on the Case Status online it says pretty much the same thing.

It appears it was quiet all around and not just for September. I've seen someone post a theory that USCIS goes quiet just prior to posting new monthly statistics?

The numbers aren't scheduled for release until next week. Usually the only thing I thought slowed down were transfers. I don't think approval notices are affected.

Anyhoo, there's been some nasty weather in the NE, so that might slow down NVC some more :/

AJMUK, you're approved, you just haven't received your hardcopy yet. Knowing USCIS, it probably has to blessed by some witch doctor and a spell must be cast before it's sent. Color me surprised that Texas worked on yours so fast!!! It gives me hope for the rest of us :-)

So who all has received their NOA2?! I'm just curious about my fellow Septembers.

They don't tend to publish any numbers until the second half of the month...So we are about a week or so away from seeing those numbers (as if they matter at this point). I wouldn't say that theory is entirely true because we saw a flood of approvals on Monday but who knows what they are upto. They have proven all of us time to time. Let's see what the remaining week has in store for us. Good luck everyone!

I recently moved and i waited to change my address until after the transfer because I didn't want it to get pulled out of line (I don't know if that was a good theory or not). Just changed it...so we wait and see what happens. I went through the postal service to forward my mail, but my old roommate knows the deal and will contact me if anything comes. I just hope this doesn't cause my case to get lost in the ether.
