I had my visa interview yesterday and we hit a major hiccup. I wasn't able to pay online for the visa processing so was told to pay by debit card on the day. The lady tried to take my payment and my bank denied it. I later found out they had flagged it as possibly fraudulent. This resulted in two options. One...reschedule appointment or two, find a bank and withdraw cash. Just thinking, if anyone else is in same boat, take your bank card and the cash just in case! we were number 4 in the immigration Q but we didn't get out of embassy till after 11.30 with the messing around.

Oh Visa was approved by the way :D

Did you have issues paying the MRV online? My fiance is having difficulty doing it. He has an account in the proper portion of the website and was able to pay the courier fee for home delivery, but it didn't have a place for the MRV fee. Did you notify the embassy ahead of time of your payment issues? His interview is on Monday, so we're not entirely sure what to do if we can't sort out the MRV fee online before then.

Pay at the embassy. They will still take your money. The instructions are written in the IV-19 form letter that the appointment letter tells you to read. Did he follow these steps?

All fiancé visa applicants and their children who will be immigrating with them to the United States, are required to pay a non-refundable visa application fee of $240 per person, regardless of age. The fee MUST be paid before you attend the appointment.

The fee is paid by following these simple steps:

1. Visit http://dld.bz/ivbook and select Apply for a K Visa

2. Sign up for a user account

3. Select Add Applicant to provide information about yourself. Repeat this step for each person who will apply for a K visa with you.

4. Choose where you want your documents to be sent if your application is successful. Delivery to a regional center in the UK will not incur additional costs.

5. Pay the MRV fee of $240.00. Payment must be made by MasterCard or Visa debit card. Once you have paid the fee, you can request home delivery from the courier for a fee of $30 per applicant. If you wish to select home delivery, you can do so by returning to your profile once you have paid the fee. Please note that you can only select Home Delivery up until the day before your interview.

6. Confirm your facility (select U.S. Embassy London).

7. Please DO NOT submit any documents ahead of your interview. You should present all documents at the time of your appointment.

Thanks Nich-Nick! He followed the steps of the letter and definitely signed up under the immigrant side of the site. I actually sent him a few links from VJ as well (including this list that I know you posted previously). He paid for home delivery through the courier through his online account (or else we'd try creating a new user account, but a new account doesn't recognize the existing courier payment). With the embassy phone numbers disconnected and/or in limbo, he submitted a form through the online contact page (since it sounds like most people who DO get through to a person at the embassy are directed to the online form anyway), but his interview is on Monday (under the 5 day reply window quoted on the contact form page), so we're not sure they'll process and respond to his email before Monday.

I know some people still pay MRV day off their interview, so we want to make sure that this will be an option for him if the MRV fee doesn't become an option for him online (and he'll bring cash per another VJer's story of a declined bank card!). Hopefully they'll take his money any way they can get it!

Thanks for your help Nich-Nick! You're an amazing help to the entire VJ community!

They will take his money at the embassy. They did not check before I went into the embassy whether I had paid or not, they just wanted the appointment letter. I did call before hand, not sure if that was necessary or not but they said they had noted it on my file so I would have no problems getting in the embassy on the day.

Thanks! My fiance is hoping to get it sorted before his interview (after a chat with the embassy, they told him it was an error on their part and they would fix it in 2-3 days), but it's great to know the alternative if they don't quite fix it as they promise!
