I've called the NVC everyday since i got my NOA2 on the 16th September, They ust told me this morning that they have received my paperwork from the Washington DC local office and to call back Monday and it should be on their system.

Have to say that every time Ive called them (with the exception of once) they have been very polite, friendly and I've always been put through to an operator within 30 minutes. One guy was very stern and little arrogant when he told me i had to wait 8 weeks before calling, apart from that they've been excellent.

fcat, thanks for posting that -- it gives me hope. I got my NOA2 on the 24th of September, so I've been calling 3 times per week since. I have gotten mostly decent service, but there was one particularly rude woman. The guys have been nice.

Congrats on having some light ahead!!! dancin5hr.gif I hope you get all of your info. come Monday.

I'm on hold to NVC as I type....crossing my fingers for good news. =)

APPROVED 2/13/2014! dancin5hr.gif Day before heart.gif day. rose.gif

When i go to the website to fill in my Ds 260 i get:

"Case Number XXXXXXXXXXXX

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."

Do i have t wait for something to happen or a certain amount of days before i can do the DS 261 ?

You can't complete the D-260 yet. You have to wait until they invoice you for the IV....I have been waiting for like over 2 weeks now to get invoiced for that :/

You can complete the D-261 and pay the AOS fee now (or you should be able to in the next couple days).

Ok thanks, just done the DS 261 will keep checking online

I JUST got the email that they accepted the DS-261 and invoiced me for the IV. However, I can't pay it yet online...it hasn't been changed. But, I read in the FAQs that it could take a couple days after their receipt of the DS-261...so I guess I will check back again tomorrow and cross my fingers.

Good luck to you! I am glad us Washington DC transfer folks are moving along now!

Just called NVC and got my NVC case number, asked for my invoice ID number and got that too:) woo hoo

Yay! Congrats!!!!

I'm right behind you. They received my paperwork two days ago and I'm waiting for them to assign it a number. I'm really kind of confused about the next step after that, though. Do you know, fcat? I asked my hubby to read through Saylin's info. I think I've hit some sort of mental processing block.

Jenmatt, NVC told me they had received my paperwork on a Friday, i called back the following Tuesday and she gave me my NVC case number and my invoice ID number. I then logged in here for a couple of days: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx until i saw i was able to fill out the DS 261. After that a couple of days i received two e mails from NVC one asking me to log in the above again, i did and saw i was able to pay my AOS bill which i did. I then logged in a couple of days later, saw it said "paid" and was able to print out the cover sheet to send off my AOS paperwork.

I'm now at a stop and think then next thing to come through is an e mail to say my earlier DS 261 form has been accepted and then i log in again above and make the payment of the IV bill, and then fill in the DS 260, then keep an eye out till it says paid and print the cover sheet and send the supporting documents to NVC

Hope that helps, just keep logging in at the above site and looking for what you can click on to fill in and pay:)

What "assigned number" are you talking about? The NVC case number? Cause it sounds like you already have it...

Medical

When: For London, you can do advance medicals. For most other places though, you have to wait until after an interview date has been assigned before doing a medical.

How: Call up the panel physician and book an appointment!

What: Your name and case number should be all that's needed to book it. What you need to bring to the actual medical though varies by places. I suggest looking at the website for the panel physician; it should list everything. Otherwise, ask when you book it!

Interview

How: NVC will assign it for you after your case is complete. You will receive an email (if you gave over both email addresses at the start of the NVC process).

Ok thanks, maybe i'm mistaken but i thought the London Embassy assign you a number after they have got my package from NVC and i cant book an appointment with the medical people until i get this number from London !

I then thought my medical file was sent to the London embassy and they then set an interview date. it was more of me wanting confirmation of that and asking how they alert me of the number and the interview date.
