On August 29, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Please help.. what does this mean? thx

[August 2012] Steve visits me again in the Uk for our second meeting for just one weekend! [March 6th 2014] AoS Interview - Passed
[september 2012] My first trip to America to visit the love of my life
[November 2012] I travel to America for my first ever thanksgiving with Steves family!
[December 2012] Steve comes to the Uk to spend xmas with my family!

[July 08th 2013]- NOA2 (approved 165 Days)
[July 18th 2013] Case forwarded to NVC
[July 26th 2013] We call DoS and are finally given our case # - I book medical immediatly

[July 29th 2013] Case forwarded to US Embassy, London
[August 8th 2013] Packet 3 sent (before received)

[August 9th 2013] Packet 3 received
[August 13th 2013] Medical

[August 16th 2013] CEAC updates - London logs my medical results

[August 20th 2013] - CEAC update - London logs my packet 3

[August 23rd 2013] I call DoS and they tell me my interview date, (2 weeks since I sent ds-2001)

[August 27th 2013 CEAC update - London dispatches packet 4]

[August 29th 2013] Packet 4 received
[september 24th 2013] Interview - Refused due to passport and birth certificate condition

[september 26th 2013] Emergency appt at HM Passport Office London - New Passport and Birth Certificate in hand
[september 30th 2013] DX collects passport and birth certificate

[October 3rd] - Docs delivered to Embassy

[October 10th] - London Approves and Issues our Visa!!

[October 16th 2013] 4.00pm - Visa in my hand, 11pm POE -Newark

Please help.. what does this mean?

A few July Filers posted on this same message yesterday. Folks were saying that it means someone has "touched" your case. One of those couples that received that message also received an approval notice a day later. Hope you receive the same news!

I google and majority said it's an approval... Is this true? anyone had this experience??

This is not an approval. Its a standart procedure which occurs with pretty much every filer. It usually happens week or two after the package is received by USCIS. What it means i dont know, but it is most likely has to do with the Alien Number being assigned to your fiancee.

Every single k1 appplication receieves this message within around 30 days of receiving their NOA1.

A year ago they never used to change your alien registeration number. So when this first started happening to applicants we were all confused. It seemed people at CSC were receiving them just before their NOA2 and people at VSC just after thier NOA1. So everyone at VSC thought they were getting an early approval. So when you are googling the issue you are reading all the confused posts where people were trying to speculate what it meant

Nowadays its just a normal part of the NOA1 process. They send you your NOA1 and then your alien number gets changed. Whether your at VSC or CSC.

Not an approval...beneficiary is assigned an A-# by USCIS.

It's a crab shoot - some get approvals not long after getting such notice. Others' online status stays same even after getting this update. Lots of folks get this with no effect for several months.
