US citizen petition vs Permanent Resident petition

Hi, I filed my I-30 last february, 2013.. August is almost over, and I haven't heard anything from NBC. Most posts I've read it only took 3 to 4 months to get their approval. my sister in law who filed her I-30 last august 13th was approved august 23rd. I'm a US citizen and she's a permanent resident. It's frustrating to find out things like this especially if you've been waiting for so long... does that mean USCIS process petition of permanent residents now than USC?

the wait is really killing me cray5ol.gif

i wish i did, but I didnt.. i filed mine first which is feb 2013. i got the receipt few weeks later, my status online is still at initial review.. she filed hers august 13.. and her status is post decision. they mailed the approved documents august 23rd.

that's why im so frustrated. i know it takes about 2.5 years for LPRs.. but it didnt seem that way with her I-30

You're saying it took her 10 days to get her NOA2 approval and move on to NVC. So she must have got to US by December than correct? or did she just get her first notification in 10 days?

And you filed in February. You can't compare what was going on in February to a year ago. Anything really after January filing is taking 8 to 12 months sorry.

Has nothing to do with LPR or USC. You are still in normal processing time.

Do you know where your petition is? At NBC or local uscis office?

I think you have the dates mixed up. I know it takes 2.5yrs for LPRs to get approval (from submission to approval).

Incorrect- the visa bulletin shows minor kids and spouses of LPRs as current, ie they get processed immediately, same as US citizens.

Talking about to time of approval at the uscis stage only; California Service Center - 19.8 Month(s) not visa availability.
