Hi, my wife and I are about to file for a CR-1 Visa and would like a cover letter sample from people who filed from abroad? I've seen here on VJ that it's best to mention that the USC is living abroad with the non USC spouse and hopefully get the petition auto-expedited. How and where do I say that on the cover letter?

Also, do we have to include a copy of the petitioner's birth certificate or is a copy of the unexpired passport sufficient? As for the beneficiary, should I include a copy of my french birth certificate with a translation, or will a copy of my passport be enough? ...or should I include both?

Do we have to include proof of re-establishing US domicile at all for the petition or do we worry about that later?

Finally, for the proof of bonafide marriage, I have our US marriage certificate, pictures, proof of joint bank account. Should we also prove that my wife (the USC petitioner) is living with me abroad? If yes, how so? Copy of her visa/resident card? We currently don't have any lease or joint bills. Would health insurance papers work too?

Thanks a bunch VJers :)

You follow the guides and outline what you send in. I don't know why they need the beneficiaries birth certificate they don't ask for that. You can send either the birth certificate for yourself or a copy of all pages of the passport. I filed from abroad and think it's pretty obvious. Thru the evidence. It doesn't seem like ppl are getting auto expedited anymore but who knows what will happen best of luck
