USPS First Class Mail US to Aus

I mailed my portion of Packet 3 to my fiance a week ago and decided to go with First Class Mail (International) through USPS. I didn't choose to express post it because it was 50 or 60 bucks more and can't be tracked once it leaves the US anyway. I was told it 'should get there in about a week.'

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any experience with sending First Class Mail from the US to Australia and could throw in a few time estimates on about how long it's taken to get there?

In my experience, it usually takes about 7-10 business days. Hope that helps! :)

Depends on where I was sending it. To Tassie, 7-10 days. To Western Australia, it sometimes took up to 3 weeks or longer (I was sending it to a mining town, not sure if that made a difference. Not an itty bitty place or anything; it was a major place on the map, just not a huge city)

I am the USC/Petitioner

Thanks for the responses! It's going to QLD. I'm hoping he receives it some time next week, but I suppose it's yet another wait and see process. We are just so close to the end, I want everything to continue to go smoothly. Almost there, tho. :)

The USPS quote 7-10 days. Sometimes it's quicker, sometimes it's longer. I sent a package for Halloween once and it took TWO MONTHS! Got hung up at customs... okay so sending a gummy brain, a beaker with bats and goo etc probably wasn't the best idea... lesson learnt!

Ours got lost somewhere on the way - she sent them on the 4th of August, and they hadn't arrived by last Wednesday. She filled out another set and sent them express post. The first lot showed up on Friday ranting33va.gif

LOL! That is totally something I would do!

Gosh, that's awlful! I'm so sorry! :( I've never had anything lost. Sometimes when I've sent things to Perth it takes 12-14 days but otherwise I've been pretty satisfied.

He ended up getting it yesterday, so it took about 10 working days. It was a little beat up for some reason. Now we're just waiting on the police check in order to send Packet 3!

LOL a gummy brain and goo? I can only imagine what customs sees daily! Especially around Halloween.

Ah, that sucks, paying for express unnecessarily had to be annoying on top of having no idea where your package was. I've even heard that express post can be delayed, too. However, I'm glad you got it!

Yeah, I get you. It will be nice to be past this whole waiting game. And I know there will be another wait with AOS, but at least we'll be waiting together. So over this separation!
