I was reading the guides about sending in the package and going for the Interview. Both need Original Birth Certificates and I believe original Divorce Certificates (not copies) I'm assuming when you send in your package, those are kept? Between contacting Montreal to order more Birth Certificates and going to the Courhouse to get more Divorce Certificates (I only have one of each right now) How many should I get of each now, so down the road I am not having to get more?

Yes, you need to take the original or certified divorce decrees of petitioner and beneficiary (if applicable to both) and original birth certificate. Take photopocies of them with you also. They will keep the photocopies and return the originals after the interview/visa approval.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

So when I have to send in my package with the Originals of both Certificates, will they have them when I go for my Interview and then exchange them for the copies? If I have to get extra originals, I want to do that ASAP so I have them ready to go.

You need one original of each. Send them photocopies. Bring original to interview.

Not the case for those going through the NVC process for the CR-1 visa which is the case for the OP. Originally certified copies are needed of any documents submitted to NVC.

A certified copy:

For example. For my Birth Certificate I will have to contact Montreal (where I was born) and have another copy of my Birth Certificate sent to me.

For my Divorce records I will have to go down to the Courthouse and get copies for my Marriage Certificate and Divorce Certificate.

You can't just photocopy the Certificates and send them in if they want Originals.
