Technicalities g-25a questions for CR-1

hello i was reading all of the guides and example forms for the cr-1 visa but could only find examples for the k visas. when applying for a cr-1 spousal visa, and it asks

"in connection with application for:"

the request is permanent residency? or?

thank you, knowledge filled visa applicants!

12/25/06 - DS3032 & AOS Fee Bill Mailed (phone system updated 12/27)

12/27/06 - emailed choice of agent; 12/29/06 - received email from NVC confirming choice of agent!

01/01/07 - NVC generated IV Fee Bill (postmarked 1/17 though!)

01/03/07 - returned AoS Fee Bill via Priority Mail (James' shortcut)

01/15/07 - NVC generated AOS package

01/22/07 - received IV Fee Bill - overnighted back to NVC same day

01/27/07 - recieved I864 package; 01/29/07 - overnighted I864 to NVC

01/29/07 - DS230 generated (phone system not updated, email response 2/5/07)

02/05/07 - mailed DS-230 to NVC via express mail

02/20/07 - CASE COMPLETE!!

04/18/07 - INTERVIEW!!!! - APPROVED!!!!

Michael's K-3:

09/28/06 - NOA1

1/25/07 - approved ...NOA2 via snail mail - 1/29/07

03/16/07 - chose not to return packet 3 to Montreal

I put I130 Petition for Spouse, but I think the Guides have an example filled out.

thanks... if you know of any guides that have this example please let me know! i've been searching and can only find example forms for the k3. maybe it's the same? i thought it was permanent residency as that is the end goal.. but i am confused by all this forms!

I double checked, and I guess they don't have an example if you are filing the I130 on its own, not with the I485. I wouldn't put permanent resident unless you are adjusting status... that being said, this form is antiquated and appears to be almost a formality at this point. As long as you fill out it completely with no blanks, have an original signature, you should be okay. I'm guessing that since a lot of people don't have VJ for reference, a lot of different things get put in that box!

If you are just submitting the I130, then it makes sense that the form is being submitted in conjunction with an I130 petition for spouse. Good luck with the rest of the forms :)

I wrote "I-130 petitioner for my wife" on my G-325A and for her "I-130 Petition" and they went through fine.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Up near the top of this window you can see a link to "Example Forms". If you click on it, you can find an example G-325A for filled out for someone filing a I-129F for a fiance.

It'll help you get the idea.

G-325A is is submitted only as a supporting document for some other form or petition. Whatever that other form or petition is, that's what the particular G-325A is in connection with.
