"The medical examination results are delivered directly to the Embassy."

How long does that typically take? If we do medical on Thurs & Friday, will the embassy already receive the results by that Monday & therefore would we be safe to have the interview on that following Monday? I read we can have the medical 4 days before interview day, but not sure why...

So those who have already done this process it'd be great to hear from you!

The WHY is because St. Lukes needs time to process your medical report and get it over to the embassy. So if you finish on a Friday, I doubt the embassy would get it on Monday. But our case was different from most on here, so perhaps someone who scheduled both close together will chime in and let you know how long the wait is.

If you are trying to do it all in one trip because Manila is far away, you might want to plan on 5-7 days stay in MNL.

DavenRoxy: So do you know how long it takes St. Lukes to get the report over to the embassy? We're trying to decide if it's better for her to just take 2 separate trips to Manila, vs staying in Manila (and piling on the hotel costs) to knock out both in 1 go. What made your case different?

We waited over a month between medical and interview because we (incorrectly) thought that the 6-month clock started at the interview, and we had to wait for her to come over, so there was plenty of time after St. Luke's for it to get to the embassy. But if the instructions say wait 4 days, that's what I'd go with. 2 days for medical, 4 days to wait, then interview. 7 days in all, but maybe a couple more considering the weekend. There are older threads on here detailing folks trying to do it close together, but I cannot recall how they fared. But it's all on here.

One week is what the instruction letter from USEM says. I think you're really going to push your luck with your plan.

q. MEDICAL EXAMINATION. All K1 and K2 visa applicants must complete a medical examination at St. Lukes Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) at least a week before the interview appointment. Prior to their visit, applicants are also encouraged to register online with SLMCEC at their website: www.slec.ph. Registering online will save processing time and make the visit to SLMCEC faster and more efficient. Refer to the instructions (see separate page) regarding the medical examination.

Whether I'm pushing my luck or not that is not what I'm asking. Again, I'm clearly asking How long does it typically take for St Lukes to send the results to the embassy?

Exactly 2 days. Or two weeks. Take your pick, because that is what has been posted on here in years past. I recall one situation where it took something like 4-6 months due to mistakes made. And I have seen where it was about 2 days. Typical seems to be 4-7 days.

One thing you need to grasp here... in the PI/USEM/VJ process, there are no absolutes, except that you will ABSOLUTELY go nuts unless you are patient and flexible.

And if USEM doesn't have the medical results at the time of interview and she passes her interview, how long would the delay be for her to get her visa? I dont think it will be an issue as long as she could knock both med & interview in one go. Still has to travel 10 hours to province so a one-stop trip would be better, you know what im saying?

Just going on memory here, cuz it didn't happen to us, but I THINK (Hank or others, help an old man out here) that if she does her interview, and passes, but the medical hasn't arrived yet, they will simply send her away and put the visa in her passport whenever the medical arrives at USEM.

My guess, knowing bureaucratic efficiency? If the medical is there before she does interview, it will all fall into place nicely. If she interviews then leaves, the medical COULD arrive at USEM, sit on someone's desk for a few days before someone joins the medical results to her case file, issues the visa, and sends it out to her. It will happen, but not in as timely a manner as if her, the CO, and the medical were all together at one time in one place, if you follow me. I'd wager that it would add a few days to a coupla weeks to the process, but this is JUST ME SPECULATING, as I have no knowledge nor proof of such a situation.

I'm with you Dave. I think if the results from SLEC has not arrived by the time of the interview and they past the interview they will wait for the results and then proceed with the issuing of the visa.

I understand about the efficiency of wanting to take only one trip as I find myself in the same boat. We were going to do SLEC on Monday, CFO on Wed and then interview on Friday. But when we went to get our interview dates there were no Friday appointments left for the next two months. And I am also dealing with two females and have to be aware of their periods so we are ending up doing the SLEC first on one trip and the Interview will be about 3 weeks later.

Oh well, such is life on the Visa Journey Bus.

Had my Medical last 01-02 Aug. and my interview was on 08 Aug. I totally forgotten about my medical if it arrives on time during the interview. But no issues everything went well. Again it is case to case basis. It is better to give more time for your med. result to arrive at USEM rather than pushing your luck. If your interview on Monday... remember Sat-Sun are weekends so no processing being done. And as per the VJ experiences when med. result not available during interview you will receive 221g form and based on their experiences it is not favorable, it takes time to receive their visas.

So those who have already done this process it'd be great to hear from you!

I know five couples who have been through the process. I'll ask them and then I'll get back to you. Don't go anywhere!
