NOA2 Approved!! NVC and Packet 3 question

So the most unexpected event happened yesterday when we logged in to check our case status on USCIS and it said Post Decision activity - petition approved! Honestly, I was expecting for a longer wait but our NOA2 was approved in 64 days :)

Quick question regarding NVC and packet 3. I understand that I have to start calling them in about 2 weeks to get a case number?

Also, I'm trying to gather the documents required for packet 3 - there are a few forms, photographs, etc required. Does only the beneficiary need to submit this or both beneficiary and petitioner? There's also a checklist of documents required like police clearance, etc - is this only required for beneficiary or both?

I apologize if this has already been posted but seems like this info is lost in the threads. Please help!

Congrats! Just the beneficiary needs all those forms. Basically, when you go for your interview its in Your (or beneficiary's) country. So this step is for the one trying to move to the states. Once you get into the states and get married, you have 90 days to file for your adjustment of status. That is a lot more about the petitioner as you are trying to get their country!
All the best for you you!

Congratulations! Ours was approved recently too. smile.png

The check list is just for the beneficiary. If you check out the following link it will tell you what the petitioner needs to do now. Scroll down to the part that says "What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2)."

Thanks for the prompt reply guys! Can you guesstimate how long will it take from here on if all goes well?

Depends how long it takes for your file to reach NVC. Sometimes 3 weeks sometimes longer. Since things have slowed down now there seems to be a backlog. We were approved 29th July still waiting for our file to be shipped to NVC. Have called every week still nothing. There's people that have been waiting since been approved in June still.

Yup!

It really depends on how long it takes NVC to receive the USCIS packet. You'll want to definitely start collecting all your post-NOA2 docs like I-134 + proof, proof of ongoing relationship (pics, phone bills, money transfers, originals of hotel/airplane receipt stubs), copy of NOA2, updated letter of intent, copy of entire I-129 package, and all originals of documentary proof. Then send this to your fiancé if you are the petitioner asap so that way when you finally get the case # you can be on your way to the next step! Paying & scheduling interview! Got it?

I've seen in the forums that VSC is notorious for delaying the transfer to NVC, guess they have a considerable amount of backlog apps. Can this be checked online or do we have to call NVC?

I know! I was expecting the routine 5 month process time. I've started collecting the docs required for packet 3 - hopefully all goes well.

Quick question: how much window do I get to enter the US? I believe this is usually a "6 month visa" but I have to get married within 90 days so I'm assuming I get 3 months before I can enter, marry and file for AOS?
