When will I receive my consular interview date?

I sent away all my DS forms including my 'readiness for interview' one on the 29th July. I had my medical on the 8th August. Can anyone give me any indication on when I can expect to receive my letter informing me of my scheduled interview date and what date roughly my actual interview might be on?

Also, can I phone up the embassy or call centre and get my date from them over the phone?

Did you specify a wedding date on the cover letter that went with your DS-2001? They tend to try and get people interviewed in time to make that date, so if you did, you may be able to use that as a predictor and to tell what level of urgency you should be at. smile.png

Generally, folks get an interview letter about 3 weeks after their medical results and DS forms have reached the embassy, giving about 3 weeks further notice to interview date. It fluctuates quite a bit though during the year, as the embassy tends to be busier in the summer doing student visas etc. (plus more staff on holiday and whatnot).

You can call the embassy or the department of state - if your date has been set, either number should be able to tell you (similarly, they can tell you if your forms and medical results have been received).

13th September 2016 - Biometrics

12th January 2017 - Biometrics (again)
30th May 2017 - Interview (approved)
7th June 2017 - Oath

Hopefully I get my visa sent to me before then...
