Hello folks,

I am a spouse of a u.s. citizen and applied for the immigration visa about a year ago through a legal office in Amman, the office has told about the whole documents needed for the "FIRST INTERVIEW" and stated that they will advice what document needed for the second interview!!, now I believe that there is nothing called second interview but the time after AP is done they will call for the rest of documents, now, my appointment is next week, is there any way that I can do to avoid this AP, knowing that we have a baby girl and married about 3 years ago. Please Advice.

Thank you,

M Najdawi

there is no way to avoid AP or expedite AP in Amman, it is mandatory for most males, trust me my husband went through it. Having children will have no bearing on how fast or slow the process is.

What's keeping you from attending this appointment?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

what makes me wondering that why the u.s. embassy stated in their official website that you should bring documents like police clearance and medical report and at the same time the agency office insists not to bring them until further notice!! knowing that not to hold these documents at the day of the appointment will put the whole process into AP. in another words having the whole requested documents will for sure make your visa process go without any further processing like AP, but it is clearly showing that they are intending delay for some reasons.

usually, when asking for 'new documents', time has passed, rendering documents such as:

1. medical exam

2. police clearance certificate

3. I-864 set

obsolete.

you have left out many details of your case. Have you had an interview at the consulate yet, if so, how long ago was it, did they put in you AP at that time? You asked if you could avoid AP which leads me to believe you have no had an interview yet, but then you go on to talk about a second interview, your post is confusing. Who told you that you needed more documents, the consulate or the "legal office" you are using? It is difficult to answer questions when you don;t have a timeline or give any details of your case, not to mention the fact that your English is difficult to understand. Fill us in on your case and perhaps we can give you correct answers. There was no need to use any lawyer or agency when filing, they are just a middle man and add more confusion a lot of the time, not to mention extra money. timeline.gif

You need to listen to the embassy and what they request, not what some agency tells you. Those agencies that have offices set up around the embassy in Amman are just scammers, not lawyers, looking to make money from unsuspecting people. The advice they give is rarely correct. Listen to the embassy. Why is your wife not helping?

in conclusion, processing time was kind of short, actually no Administrative Processing were required in our case, every thing were easy and smooth, we have just prepared all the required documents and have done all applications, that's it, we are now waiting for my green card and my daughter's US passport. I hope all the best for all of you.
