Visa Process at U.S. Embassy, Manila, Philippines

My filipina wife and I are living on Mactan Island, Philippines.

She has her immigration visa interview on September 4th at 6:15 a.m.

I'm wondering if any who have gone through the process there in Manilla have ever left the embassy with their visa in hand?

If not, is there something to say or do to get the visa sooner rather than later?

I really need to be back in the U.S. by October 1st.

Thanks!

No, it is always issued via delivery or pickup a few days later at least. You should have it by October 1st though, provided all at the interview goes well and they have from you everything they need.

Thanks for your imput.

I did not want to make flight reservations until we had the visa in hand.

But I guess if we leave there knowing we are approved, booking a flight for 3 weeks later will be safe.

Maybe that is a question we'll ask the interviewer.

Thanks again.

There is no way to get the visa in her passport immediately! Remember, you are dealing with government workers. If they did everything today what would they do tomorrow? On average, provided your gal passes the interview, it can take up to 2 weeks to get the passport back with the visa in it - some people get their passport back faster and some take longer... Best of luck!
