It has to be. They must have already approved your i130, you should see the approval soon. Are you planning to expedite at NVC as well, NVC is extremely backlogged right now.

Question I'm hoping someone here might be able to answer.

With my I-130 application I also submitted a significant amount of supporting evidence (bank statement, marriage certificate, passport copies, affidavits, etc). Does anyone know if when my application gets approved, do all those documents will go with it to NVC or will I need to resubmit them all again? I was trying to be efficient and have a complete as possible package from the outset submitting things that were only required at the NVC stage with the I-130.

It will all be forwarded to the NVC, there's no need to resubmit the information. The NVC doesn't require any additional proof of relationship, but some people dealing with embassies in high fraud countries may choose to send additional proofs at this stage. If you want to do that, it would accompany the IV packet, but it is not required or requested.

No, it's taking almost 2 months just to get from NOA2 to a case number at NVC -- before you can pay any fees or submit any paperwork. Shipping time from USCIS to NVC + a current 30 business day estimate to get a case number once NVC receives it.

They generally want 2-4 weeks to review your paperwork, so once you've sent the last batch of documents hopefully you'll have case complete within a month. That was my expectation as well, but since NVC is accruing a backlog, maybe it should be downgraded to a hope. Frustration there is definitely mounting.

How do you know that? What does this effect? the whole process or getting the case number? How long are you thinking from NOA2 to setting of the interview date?

Lets say I have my paperwork ready now....

Hey Guys... does anyone know the answer to this... for the DS-230 IV Package, it states i need a police certificate for both the UK (where I live) and also for anywhere I have resided for 12 months or more. As I lived in Hong Kong for 12 months, well just under, I need one. However the HK police send them directly to the party (ie embassy/government branch) who requests them, I also need a letter stating that I need one for the visa. Therefore;

1) Will i get a letter from the NVC stating i need these documents? (Packet 3???) if so when i get my letter from the NVC?

2) I guess the HK police will send it direct to the NVC correct? If so will the NVC forward this to the London Embassy?

The NVC backlog he's referencing is the 30 business day time frame I mentioned -- the time from NVC receiving your case to them assigning you a number.

30 business days taking into account holidays = 42 days = 6 weeks.

This is to be able to get to a case number.

Then processing to case complete assuming you have everything will take at least 1 month.

So 2.5 months overall after NOA2.
