Medical Before Interview Date?

 Share

I was under the impression that an interview date was assigned after Packet 3 forms and DS2001 were received and that the medical just needed done before the interview date.

But the Packet 3 letter says that an interview date will not be given until the medical results are received.

Anyone gone through this recently and have any insight?

Thanks!

To confirm to help you feel better..Knightsbridge will send your results to the embassy for you. So once the embassy gets that and your forms its requesting you to send back your interview will be booked. Hope that helps

Thanks! We've sent all of the forms (including the DS2001), but I was still nervous about when they'd assign an interview date. Hopefully it will be pretty shortly after the medical results are received!

Thanks for the reassurance! ?

Embassy assign interview date after both medical and all your forms are received. Seems to be running around a month later from what I can tell on here. Am waiting myself.

Not necessarily. It's random. If your medical is before the interview date and you've sent your forms in, they can do. I had my medical on Thursday and Knightsbridge confirmed to me yesterday they've not sent anything to the Embassy, if I've not heard from them by the end of Monday then everything is good, and the Embassy will likely have the results by the end of the week. Knightsbridge also told me that London can book in K visa interviews prior, as long as they expect to receive the medical results before the interview date.

Yesterday we received an e-mail from the LND IV branch confirming we have an interview for September 3rd at 9am, and said we will receive Packet 4 in the mail soon. Without having our medical results yet.

You receive your interview date by post. I got an e-mail because I specifically requested on my cover letter that they e-mail me (and included the e-mail address I wanted them to send it to) to confirm my fiance will be allowed to attend my interview with me. They did, but included the interview date too and that they'd sent my appointment letter in the post.

Perhaps more people should request an e-mail with their appointment date on their cover letter XD They might do it for you. They did for me. And it is a real one, 'cause it came from a state.gov e-mail address and CEAC updated the same day.

That's a good tip. I didn't have her put that on her cover letter because when I called NVC they asked me for her email address so it would be in her file so they could use it as a contact. We haven't received any emails from London whatsoever. I don't think it's too big of a deal though because from what I've seen here and read on the embassy site, they generally schedule the interview for around a month out unless you request one earlier due to pre-made plans. She had her Medical on July 30 and the ceac website had an update on August 5th then again on August 8th. I assume that the first was the receipt of the medical and the second was the scheduled interview, so am expecting her to get the letter early in the week and figure it will be around the first week of September.

Hopefully people who haven't sent forms yet will read your post and take the advice to request email updates. Even though it doesn't really change anything to wait for the post, it would be nice to actually know sooner and would relieve some anxiety for those who are overly anxious for whatever reason.

I think even if you get the email, they follow up with a letter....we had requested a cancellation appointment to take an interview asap so my fiance got an email on Friday for the interview tomorrow...the email said he would receive his letter in the post but he's leaving for London today so he won't have it in time..he's just taking the email as his proof so they let him in. :)

I think Queen got the email in response to her request that her fiancé attend the interview. Their confirmation just happened to confirm the date he was attending. But the main reason for the email was to tell her that her fiancé was given the okay. I don't think it is a true sign that they will take the time to email everybody. Maybe they will step up their automation in the future and generate emails or have an online way to check. Look how well the new payment system is working....:P

If an interview has been assigned, the Dept of State would have that information before a letter came in the post.
