Phone number is 202-663-1225 . Press 1 then 0. This is the number I called.

Thank you, just tried this number and it's much faster to connect (3 mins compared to 15 at the NVC). Still no case number though :( Gonna keep trying, seems like the consensus is between 4-5 weeks so I'll be calling again tomorrow and Monday. Thanks all.

I just got off the phone with NVC a few minutes ago. The wait time was about 15 minutes and she told me that my case was not there yet, and that it can take up to 8 weeks. We have an NOA2 date of July 26, 2013, so I know it's not technically "two weeks" but hearing 8 scared me a bit :(

[february 2010] - we had been emailing back and forth.

[march 2012] - met in Chicago and began our relationship.

[may 2012] - he came back to MN to visit me.

[august 2012] - i moved to the UK for one year of school.

[september 2012] - traveled to FR to meet his family.

[march 2013] - flew home to MN to visit family. he proposed!

and so began our visa journey!!

[03-25-2013] - filed our I-129F.

[04-16-2013] - NOA1

[07-26-2013] - NOA2

[08-03-2013] - NVC received

[08-09-2013] - NVC left

[08-13-2013] - Consulate received

[09-13-2013] - Packet 3 received

My was never got there. Instead, it went to TSC. And later learned it was an administrative error by VSC and sent back to VSC. It took them two months to get thing straight. Now there they re-approved my case on August 7. Usually it should take less than a month. The best option is to hit NVC an email. IT might take time, but they will get back with a reply. Let them know that your case was sent to them and to send you the new case number when the case ready. The phone does work, but you will wasting a lot of time . NVC was so gracious enough with the email, they followed my case all the way to TSC. If it wasn't for NVC email, my case would still be at the TSC. Lilke I told you, just email NVC and attach your approval letter. Then they will get back to you when thing ready.

We were approved on July 10th and as of August 6th, still no sign of our case at the NVC. It's very disheartening, especially as we were hopeful that we'd get through the rest of the process before September 15th, when I'd planned to fly out to the US for a couple months over Halloween/Thanksgiving. But if it still hasn't even made it to the NVC, I'm doubtful I'll get the medical and interview done within 5 weeks. I'm calling twice a week just hoping to get the case number, so I can get the medical booked. Disappointingly, I don't think we'll be getting married this year sad.png

I would advice you to relax. The best thing to do is through email. Just send them an email with the approval letter and let them know to provide you the case number when the process is ready. Instead of calling everyday and wasting time, I would prefer you to email them. They will get back to you. They have employees who just assigns for that.

My case was almost lost because of an administrative error. Things got back to track after several emailed to both NVC and VSC. They were able to track my case for me from TSC. If I was you, I will ask NVC what I need through an email and attach my approval letter. They will get back to you. I already receive 5 email from NVC tracking my case. Yesterday, they replied my case is ready to go to NVC and VSC confirmed that with an email. The email will solve your everything.

Just FYI:

Our NOA2 is also July 10th. I have collected some data from the VJ database and this is what I found:

Percentage of cases received by NVC reported as waiting time from NOA2 to NVC:

7 days :: 28%

14 days :: 71%

21 days :: 92%

28 days :: 96%

35 days :: 98%

So by 5 weeks 98% of the people have had their cases received by the NVC, putting us in the bottom 2% of the population. This information is limited though. It is based only on the VJer's from their timelines (643 couples) so only represents a small portion of all the cases the NVC gets; the data is for NOA2's from April through August, and is only for the CSC (although I believe the VSC and TSC data would be similar).

That's really interesting. We were approved on July 26th, I just called NVC and still no sign. We are California filers.

Looking at your statistics it looks like we may hear next week.

Thanks for doing this .

NOA2 : 25 July

I also called the NVC (Telephone number: (603) 334-0700) and was told since 2 weeks ago the waiting time has changed to 8 weeks.

They must be in a backlog at this time. Wondering if others have the same answer. I read some calls DOS? what is the difference between DOS and NVC?

NVC told me to scan my NOA2 into an email to: NVCResearch@state.gov with the receipt number in the subject line. I need to do this every time I want an updated status. I was on hold with NVC for about 20 minutes.

Thanks for the help.

DOS has less than 3 minutes of waiting to get to Visa Specialist. I got approved on July 23 and got my number today. NVC told everyone that it is up to 8 weeks ( The maximum time could be 8 weeks not for all cases). Keep calling them until you get it.
